I have normal sized hands like anybody like Yngwie Malmsteen and Joe Satriani, but for some reason Paul Gilbert has a larger sized left hand then normal; where he can do alot of string skipping licks. I don't think the size of your hands limit your speed at playing, but you are limited to trying to play like Paul himself. Paul Gilbert is a monster!!!!

Slash is great at coming up with memorable, classic guitar solos with great tone, but he's nowhere close to Gilbert or 1000's of others when it comes to technical greatness. @kzelmer Yeah, Slash is NOT a shredder. He can mimic fast playing by using a lot of legato, but even he says he isn't that fast. Slash's strength is his tone and phrasing. But people need to remember, most of the GNR riffs they love were written by Izzy, not Slash. But that doesn't mean Slash isn't an amazing player; he's just not a shredder. It's not like blues rock calls for many sweep arpeggios or tremolo picked runs anyway.
