@ BiographySeries Yo man, I GOTTA Give you MAD PROPS on this rhyme bio that you laid down and jus dropped, on meh. Cause it's time for a change and I know where you comin from, makin dollas outta lost space. Anyway mang, incase you didn't catch it, this shout out to you was written with a lil bitta rhythm in it, and I salute to the series that you breakin through with, educatin the youth with how the PROs do dis. One love City Limits man, keep it up!
I was around back then and my peeps from Howard said homie got the name Puff cause he was a charismatic party promoter/personality and that he always had lil crowds on campus following him like Puff The Magic Dragon so thatz why he was called Puffy. First time hearing about this chest puffed out thing. I dj'd back then and Party Promoters ran the club scene back then...my peeps had a crew runnin NYC b4 the Bad Boy parties came up here and then it was a rap. Nobody grinded like young Sean
@exkimo64 maybe so but Craig Mack was still the 1st hot act on bad boy, he was the first with a hit single and put bad boy on the map and also blew up before biggie did and his album had numerous hot songs on it so dude who made this song is just praising biggie and puffy
@CEEPMDEE I've heard Project: Funk Da World I'm not saying it's bad but when all fans had was Flava In Ya Ear (+ Remix) (and perhaps Get Down), and then Biggie's album comes out first (which to a large portion of the hip hop community is considered a classic), many probably forgot about Craig Mack (as his album was good but not classic).
He isn't down playing Craig Mack's involvement but saying Craig Mack was clearly overshadowed by Biggie and accounted for most of the Bad Boy's sales.
@exkimo64 I remember back then clearly and the first hot Male artist rapping out of bad boy was Craig and just because people like biggie so much they try to write Craig off and that's some real bullshit.
I like biggie two but I know Mack was the first + I felt Big was a bitch for saying "I got more mack than Craig" in One More Chance... how you gonna take a swipe at ya label mate who's single your getting paid off of?
+ biggie was a fake ass nigga copying Tupac anyway, Craig was ORIGINAL
@CEEPMDEE Making moves with Puff, Funk wit da style, Mainline = Hot Songs, Flava in ya ear, Flava in ya ear Remix, Real raw = CRAZY HOT + He kept shit 100 on "When God comes" in that song he talkin bout fake niggs like Biggie. listen to that song and tell me I'm lying. + in the end Puff jerked Big on his 1st Album then when he did let Big get his shit popping, He (puff ) SET BIG UP IN LA.
You can't tell me from lookin at the string of events leading to Big's murder that Puff was not with it
@CEEPMDEE I straight up can't see Suge or Puff being involved in either murders because their success was tied to them.
Yeah I know there were some really good songs on Project: Funk Da World. I know all about that When Got Comes stuff. (I notice you don't say anything about Craig kind of taking a swipe at BIG for that one). Personally I don't think either of them were taking swipes at each other. BIG's line was just a pun on Craig's Name.
@exkimo64 oh yeah not to mention Craig already had a classic under his belt back in "88" I still remember 1 of the verses from "Get Retarded" my MC-EZ aka Craig Mack.. (it's on youtube, check it out ).
now you mean to tell me the Douchebag who made this Biography song did not know Craig had way more hip hop history than BIG even before bad boy + way more than 1 hot song? in the end Big became hotter but Craig was more than a 1 hit wonder. & trust me, Suge & puff were down with those shootings
Honestly this Biography is about Puff/Sean Combs even BIG had only a small portion in the song. This was not a Craig Mack biography so his MC-EZ act has absolutely nothing to do with Bad Boy Records.
Personally I loved Skee-Lo's first album but if this was a bio about the record label owner that he was signed to, I would also expect to hear Skee-Lo one mentioned as having a "Hot track" because that's how he remembered, regardless of how good his album was.
OMG! I actually thought puffy did this but some Bio Channel wanna be prod/editor did this. l LOVE biographies & documentaries!!
Thanks a million for this quick, informative, & very interesting bio!!
Not sure who the 7 retards were who Disliked this. I guess some stupid public school drop out, someone who felt they didn't get the appropriate light & exposure in this rap documentary, or perhaps Puff himself - altho he should be honored & thrilled with this.
i dont know if this is puffs page, im not that big of a fan of puff, but i just watched an abc interview from 6-10 on puff and the man tried to treat him like shit, talked about his kids he wasn't with and how he bought one of his kids a maybauch for a 16th bday present, i have a lot more respect for mr combs than that abc reporter
absofuckinglutely masterfully done my man - This work is extremely well done... and all of the vision, essence & transitions are done seemlessly - which can only mean ONE thing... You did all of this work single handedly. I bid you much success and I respect you for this show of WILL.
OMG how cool.... i am in this footage...woooow. i was there for the city college game..the camera passed me and my crew in the front bleachers...i'm light skinned, had on a white shirt with bang, pony tail and big gold earrings sitting next to a brown skinned girl with a stripped rugby shirt and converse sneakers...memories...that was a fun then sad day...
