I have gained family from all over the world... Russia to south america. Most people that say that hate America have never even been here. Having a nice full passport has taught me many things. Most importantly is the USA is a great place, not perfect, but probably the best.

Hi Jonathan , Im live in Taiwan,and I love this vid, its so much of fun to know how a guy think about this island from a different culture background. The old style toilet bowl,in fact ,that called Japanese style toilet,of course , its old style. I bet you cant find this type of toilet in 99% houses of Taiwanese.you can see it in public for 2 reasons, 1 is its easier to maintain clean, 2 is ppl dont want touch a public toilet bowl with their butt .

You have no idea what you are missing. But of course this is only normal, for habit is essential to deciding what foods we choose to accept and what not to. But it's just like cheese. It stinks, but it tastes good. And in fact, after you've tasted it and maybe gotten used to it or just simply realized that you liked it, you'll find the smell good instead of stinky:D

台灣人家裡基本上都是用坐式馬桶(我沒見過家裡用蹲式的...

公共場所才會有蹲式馬桶 (近年新的公共場所蹲式馬桶有減少的趨勢

通常公共場所坐式馬桶都只會有一個 基本上都是提供給行動不便的人使用

所以一般人 不會直接跑去用坐式馬桶

蹲式馬桶偏多 大概是因為蹲式馬桶比較便宜....

日本現在的蹲式馬桶越來越少了,不要拿他們救援,況且以前日本的­蹲式馬桶很多的時候,先進程度跟歐美也不能比,他們是為了省戰爭­錢才大量使用出這種便宜不人性化的東西

So people like to squat on public toilets not b/c they're used to it, but they just think its cleaner that way. Public toilets in Taiwan really not that clean compare to public toilets in N.America.

Taiwanese people generally prefer the "old" style toilet when they're out in public place because its cleaner and you dont have to "touch" anything, unlike the "modern" toilet. But at home its different. People prefer the "modern style" much more.

thank goodness Mr. Wonka isn't Taiwanese. You are dead on with toilets here in Taiwan. It's not just the hole in the ground part. They way we Taiwanese clean the toilet gets on my nerves too. Not that there aren't dirty toilets in the US, but there are just so few clean ones here in Taiwan. I haven't seen people squat on the modern toilet, but I have heard people hover over it.
