bought first game when i found Risen 2 on Steam , it was really good game had alot of fun^^ hope they use the same Combat system and those really hard creature like in first game =p died quite alot but still was great ^^
I just finished the risen 1 and it was good. Hard and sometimes very fucking annoying but good. Dead, load, dead, load,dead,load it was like that. The storyline was good actually and what can i say i give it 8/10 it was still nice and good rpg when u get the idea of the game.
Kinda weird all the hype around Risen 2. Didn't Risen 1 have a weird ending where you became a melee warrior even if you played as range or wizard during the game? Its been a while since I played Risen but I remember being very disappointed with the ending let alone the island being the only area you can explore. Maybe I'm getting my games mixed up, but I remember Risen as being average to mediocre game play however with very good graphics.
@Roeshamboe05 it was because u needed His armor 2 defeat the Titan , no normal weapon could hurt him thats why you needed 2 use the Titan weapon and titan armor
@SkywinII That's fine if you're a warrior. Why not change it so you get caster epic items if you are a wizard that would have made more sense. Staff, epic wizard robe, epic wizard spell something magicy for casters, not a damn hammer and shield that was retarded.
the reasons why i loved gothic and risen is the world being much more detailed than other games, they were real games not just other modern games, where you win by following a path and mashing some buttons or pressing the same button over and over again.

risen 1 sucked it has overly repedative combat compared slow story small space even the pizazz lacks pizazz it gets interesting after the game picls up but skyrim was a big up hrade compared to risen but everyone has their own oppinion and some of the people bashing skyrim i really doubt they've played it
@microbickiller I would recommend you play the first one first based on the fact I really enjoyed the game. It's tough at first, but after an hour or so you get the hang of it all and it's epic. I've played most games of this ilk over the last 30 years and would rank Risen as one of the best, Can't wait till March and hope this title isn't endlessly delayed.
I'm glad Pirahna Bytes decided to focus more on pirates in this sequel,the medieval theme of the first game wasn't very appropiate for its tropical setting.I also like the fact that the game is a lot more colorful,since most modern fantasy RPGs fallowed the examples of military FPS and have only grey and brown as colours so the kiddies will think they bare mature and hardcore.Oh,and Skyrim sucked!

The hero and Xardas leave the world of men after banishing Innos, Adanos and Beliar from the world. Risen is a direct sequel to this too.. I mean, the story begins with the gods being banished and then the Titans being freed. Mendoza even mentions that a Wizard banished the gods if you ask him about it.
What you talking about? Its a one shot - reload weapon. There where bows and cross bows with the same mechanism since Gothic 1. If you categorize the pirate age as "modern age" i say you got no clue of history.I love all Gothic games. But the theme itself is kinda overused. I actually like the change of technology. Too many games have the stereotypical run of the mill fantasy setting, I love the sort of... "pirate" age, potentially "steampunk" sort of age. It feels a heck of a lot more fresh and new than the same old Tolkien-esque worlds, despite how much I still like those. I could never complete the first Risen because it felt too familiar to so many other games I've played, but this one might do enough for me to see it all the way through.
Nice Piranhia Bytes.. Skyrim is really good, but im sure Risen2 will top Skyrim, the textures will be much better.. and the gameplay is super professional.

Hey Guys, I wouldn't buy this game, although the trailer makes it look good. Deep Silver aren't a very consistent game company if you consider the quality of their games. Sacred 2 was a failure, and Dead Island 2 is very buggy. So i wouldn't recommend this game or any Deep Silver Games. Your money though.

@Maharg23 Risen is kind of brutal, you really have to pay attention to what they say when talking or given quests, then you have to run around and figure it out yourself with no help. In the Elder scrolls series and fallout you were given a marker on your map, Risen has non so you have to find out where you are going with running around. i gave up on that game... i cant find all the cemetery to dig up cretin graves for a quest and am not about to spend 10 hours running around looking for them.

@LDUxENT lol no. Skyrim isn't perfect but it is more interesting than oblivion. Oblivion is unplayable without mods in my opinion.

@LDUxENT do you criticise skyrim's main storyline? Well, compared with oblivion's main quest it is great! Skyrim has many faults but oblivion is just unplayable without mods. The Oblivion's world is so generic and uninteresting. Sorry. The only thing that saved oblivion was dark brotherhood and thieves guild as you said. The rest is pure boredom

This game gonna be awesome.I loved the first and ill love this even more.I liked the graphics on risen and obviously they got improved.Gonna screenshot round the day,listen to the epic story,meeting old allies and beat some monsters asses off! gj pyranhas :D

@nubemuffin And how exactly does "pirate game" imply that the game must be the complete opposite of open world, fantasy and RPG? Pirates are free - open world shouldn't be a problem there. Fantasy? Look at pirates of the carribean - there's lots of weird mythology going on in these movies. And, well, if you can grasp the concept of "role playing" you can also live with the fact that you have to role play something other than a medieval knight.

@TwiIight0ne Risen was traditional European fantasy. I think we both know that. Whats the point of magic if you have guns??? The art style has completely changed as well. From what ive seen so far this shouldn't be considered a sequel to Risen. This is like saying Fallout 3 is a sequel to Oblivion.

Hey Guys, I wouldn't buy this game, although the trailer makes it look good. Deep Silver aren't a very consistent game company if you consider the quality of their games. Sacred 2 was a failure, and Dead Island 2 is very buggy. So i wouldn't recommend this game or any Deep Silver Games. Your money though.

@jshadowhunter yea its cool that you like risen 1, but i'm not all that keen on it, i'm looking forward to other games though, like BF3 and MW3, Skyrim and also Blizzard has a lot of new titles coming soon too, the new Star Wars game and LOTR game seems pretty neat as well.

Tired of all the nonsense around here. The Developers (creators) for Gothic 1, 2 (and NOTR), and 3 where Piranha Bytes Jowood is the publisher (the one that sponsors and does the marketing and stuff like that)
Same for Risen it is developed (created) by Piranha Bytes and published by Deep Silver

@Maharg23 Risen is kind of brutal, you really have to pay attention to what they say when talking or given quests, then you have to run around and figure it out yourself with no help. In the Elder scrolls series and fallout you were given a marker on your map, Risen has non so you have to find out where you are going with running around. i gave up on that game... i cant find all the cemetery to dig up cretin graves for a quest and am not about to spend 10 hours running around looking for them.
