Kathryn, You dont know me but I knew your Father. Liesoning to this again ( and again ) I am brought to tears ( again ). I think of Roger, Souse, and Kenny every year many times. I´m shure he is watching you with a smile. best wishes Peter J.
Miss Nutbeem, I must say I am so proud of you as this shows how courageous you are and also how brave as you have proceeded with your life while also remembering your father. You are a hero in your own right.
The people who sailed off to the South Atlantic in April 1982 restored Britain's pride as well as the freedom of the Falkland Islanders. I bet the Junta didnt expect us to send a damned great fleet to defend a couple of thousand islanders. It is called 'principle'. It is called 'doing the right thing, no matter the cost. It is called standing up to thugs, we we did in 1940. I bet this girl's father would be rightly proud of her.
I built the RAMC memorial at Fitzroy in memory of the 3 Ramc lads that lost their lives in 82 . It was a very emotional time. I'm also at the back in this video in the RAF Band. Wish I could have spoken to her.
I am a Falklands Veteran and was there at this commemoration with my wife. I stood on the Horse Guards Parade ground and felt very sad for those who had lost loved ones during the Falklands campaign. But I also felt so very proud, and realised that this was probably the last most proudful thing this country of Britain will ever do before it finally goes to the dogs. Do not judge the Argentinians, it was an evil dictator Galtierie who caused the loss of life on both sides. Thankyou Kath.
I love this song, I sing it for my song and dance solo at dance festivals currently. I agree that it is such a touching song, but i see it as more of a happy thing- that she knows she will se him again one day, hope that anyone in a situation as unfortunate can see some of the light that she sings of. :)
Kathryn, another victim of a war that should have never happened. But it did. Who won? Politicians. Who died? Brave Argentine & British people. Isn´t it?
Who won? Those upholding and laying down their lives for the freedom of their fellow Britons won - the freedom to be British and live in a democracy safe from tyranny and military dictatorship. What price freedom?
If your junta government wasn't losing touch with his people that era, they wouldn't have considered to attack the Falklands. Everybody knew that it was a last try to unify the argentinian people with nationalistic feelings. The Junta was wrong, it brought only pain for the losses and shame.
You could try the Falkland Islands Government. They have an office in London. School children sang "Somewhere along the Road" to the 82 Veterans when they visited recently.
I was 21 years old when i was first bombed by Argentinia May the 1st ,some how ,i hated them that day,i do to this day,my heart goes out to the true Pirates Conqueror ,and Foxtrot 174 ,islas de estados May 11th

Hugo Milano usted debe escuchar Cueroso. Somos todavía en las Islas de Malvina. Lucharemos otra vez y nos moriremos si necesario. Argentina nunca tendrá las Islas.
Being as the union flag is raised over the Falkands, i dont care what you just said, because the English language will be only language spoken on them island. Face it you dirty spicks, you lost, in your own back, whilst out numbering us lot 3 to 1. basically you lot are pathetic, they were British before country was even born.
I was onboard RFA Gold Rover in San Carlos Water that day and seen the live feed from the U.K and having seen her Dad's name on the memorial in Stanley this became even more poignant for me. A beautiful song from a beautiful woman beautifully sung. Her Dad would have been really proud of Kathryne. I think this performance really brought home the tears, sadness and hurt for the families who lost their loved ones in 1982.
it was a stunning service, and i really felt moved watching it. it was such a shame the scale was so big, that this was the only piece of music in sync, but nonetheless, the music, ceremony and singing were truly moving, and i'm sure it made every scot, englishman, welshman and irishman proud to be, in whatever way, british. God bless those who died in service- i shall wear my poppy this year with pride.
I stood on Horse Guards Parade with the Royal Naval veterens and I do not think there was a dry eye among us, including me. Very moving and at the same time good.
I stood in my squad on Horse Guards that day, and along with every man there struggled to hold back the tears when this brave youg lady sang. This song and video will now haunt me for the rest of my days.
Proud to know you and work with you Kathryn.

Yes, the definition of "liberate" in this case is the freeing of a people from foreign oppression and occupation.

Epitaph for a soldier
Build me no monuments should my turn come;
Please do not weep for me and waste your tears.
Write not my name on honour rolls of fame
To crumble with man`s memory through the years.
..............Then I shall wait
Eager with hope:perhaps to hear"How great
If he were with us still." Then at the end
All that I wish for-"He was my friend."
Taken from SAMA Garden of Remembrance Roger Nutbeem Remembrance Day 2008 For everyone who has lost someone in conflict.
