@dillungd1 oh yeah my friend oranges are super loud great for gigs Joan jett, eric clapton, joey alves, gary moore, lita ford amoung others rocked these amps all have celestion speakers
I was so happy when you started playing nutshell ! brilliant :) oh and battery? I know alot of metal bands are using Orange amps now , they sound rad ! I'm just wondering because i've only had combos or valve pre amps before, would this head sound good Driving really big speakers, Or do you generally need a big powerful amp head for big speakers ?
I have never heard heavy stuff sound so damn good on an EL84 amp, and this is with a V-30 loaded cab......I can only imagine how it would sound with a mini-stack loaded with a couple T-75's!!!! Maybe it's the shredder guitar, maybe it's your percussive picking style, but you made me think I was listening to a hot-rodded marshall with KT88s!
@lungloogie No reverb, and its just a single channel amp....but as far as single channel amps go its crazy versatile. If you know what you're doing you can go from one sound to another in under ten seconds, believe me lol
Not that i dont love my 4 channel Mesa Roadster hahaha
I love the sound of this amp. I don't like that is a single channel amp. The Dual Terror has the 2 channels. You could blow out some windows with the DT. but at least you can cut the power down on both of these amps. The cleans sound pretty clean also. I was trying to compare Orange to the Egnater Rebel 30. They both use a EL-84 Power tube but the Orange sounds much thicker in the distortion portion.
@mooktank I am very interested in buying one of these amp heads. One quick question, instead of buying a speaker cabinet for the tiny terror could i just use another amp as a speaker?
Extra imformation. I have a marshall mgdfx 15 watt amp, and a fender mexican stratocaster
You can't use an amplifier as a speaker. If you have a combo amp where the speaker can be disconnected, you could possibly use that speaker depending on impedance. I imagine the speaker in the Marshall is pretty much a piece of junk so I'd recommend just buying a decent cabinet. Save up for a while if necessary!
@Well4QThen Also, if you are handy with woodworking at all, you can save a bit AND get a killer sound by just buying a V-30 or a G12T-75 (V30 if you like a middy sound, T-75 if you like a little bit of a scoop) and throw together a 20" wide, 20" tall, 12" deep pine box with a rear panel that covers 2/3 or all of the back, and a hardwood ply baffle with an 11" diameter circle cutout, some bolts (make markings for the bolts using the speaker as a stencil) and it's a sweet 1x12 for about 150 bucks.
@Stratocaster21st1994 they have a combo version of the tiny terror you might want to look into that instead of the head if you need a speaker to run it through
This thing doesn't have its own speakers, does it? I mean, I know you need a cabinet in order to seriously play with it, but if I was gonna go to my buddy's house, could I just grab this and my guitar and be okay?
which amp do u like more?for you sounds better?this terror or engl screamer? Do you think orange dual terror is a good choice? or maybe better buy engl?
There is soooo much tone in the TT! I have one myself, but I still have to watch vids of it on youtube just to remind myself of how awesome it sounds. Great playing btw. Never heard metal sounding so good from this amp before.
DEAR GOD....... This is just plugging straight into the amp? That is amazing. Its not the tone i am looking for, but still that sounded pretty awesome.
hey mate. nice vid. how loud is this ? i mean, im going to buy this exact set (the tiny terror with the ppc112) with the intention to use it on the rehearsal room (instead of brining my super heavy hot rod deville ) . will it be heard over the drum kit ? i know this is quite a vague question but you know what I mean :) thanx a lot, cheers !
Is this the amp by itself, no pedal or boost ? What string gauge? what about your tuning? ==== I just wish it had a effects loop for just a lil use. nice tones, i tried a marshall haze the other day and was dissapointed... also is this a korean or china orange TT? is there really a difference?.... thanks
just to be clear theres no added distortion for a pedal here ?? im loving the tone

@SchecterZV Yes. Duh. Speakers and cabs have arguably an even bigger effect on the sound than capacitors and tubes.

hey u use any pedals?would u recomend this amp for thrash/death metal with medium cab?
i`ve EMG pickups

I never used pedals with this amp. It would probably be great for thrash if you like the tone as is. You could always add an EQ and boost pedal.

brandon5pennies 1 year ago
@Stratocaster21st1994 You can, it would require some soldering though.
You wouldn't actually be using the amp, you'd be using the speaker part and it wouldn't sound great, but it'd work.
