3:25, In Japan, cars have to stop once to zero-meter and drivers have to look left and right(there is a fine if not doing and seen by police) to check whether the train is coming or not, even if the gates are open and the signals telling `no trains coming`, after all its machine and can go wrong anytime...is what they say, when having a driving-license test.
Man... i am from serbia and this things are also very often... But not as on the video.... I still dont have a driving licence cause im twelwe but i would not drive like those fools... U driven correctly... Nice driving dude....
nice vid and collection! keep the great vids coming!
motorcycles creep me out ever since I saw an accident happen next to me! he sped up to me and then move to middle lane where there was a suv. next the the motorcycle sped up to move around suv but suv move to left lane at same time and the motorcycle clipped median and rolled off bike onto median that had many rocks! suv and me slam on brakes as the motorcycle is on controlled! he wore no protection and it was a friends new bike!
also he was bleeding from his head and had very nasty road rash! when cops came they wanted to know what I know but I told them I dont know exactly who is at fault but I think both! they sent me home! probably because I was only 17 at that time!
nice lotus! the white car did seem to know taxi was going to go so it slowed! also I dislike when people go slow and you start to go around then they speed up! phones are illegal here if it impairs driving! any weaving or such thing!
gee, that would have been some scene to witness, esp as a new driver. Your age shouldn't have been a factor in being a witness though (although I don't know your local laws) - so I can't say that really.
Motorcycling I think is relatively safe (I feel), but it's doing it
among other cars and traffic makes it unsafe. Most bike riders also have more of a skill set than car drivers - and when bike riders are in cars driving, they are usually better equipped (in my opinion).
(x2) and I've observed most bike riders in my city are pretty good - in fact they are better behaved than car drivers.
Last year, driving near the airport, a car driver threw some rubbish out of her window at a set of lights - a bike rider came along semi-got off his bike and threw the rubbish back in her car. It was so amusing :)
lol sounds amusing! but yeah I do agree with you because they do have better skills and better behaved but just like car drivers here, they also do bad things though! like 50/50 they speed and weave in and out of cars! also they dont wear protective gear, again like 50/50! lately they have been good here except like two days ago their was a guy trying to do tricks in traffic!
The way the phone-guy enters the roundabout at 4:20 is not illegal as far as I'm aware. Is it? But I still usually stop in when in his position and have a small "oh shit" moment when in yours. On larger roundabouts (eg Canberra) it's quite safe and normal.
well at first I thought it was the result of direct sunlight disappearing and reappearing behind a tree - but it appeared to be way more than that - so yeah, think it was some zippy sag :)
that song is Paul Kelly & the Coloured Girls - 'to her door' - really good song and really captures the essence of a certain part of australian culture
Gosh I hope your camera system isn't dying. Lately I've been getting voltage sag too. I'm thinking it's the bit in there that boosts the voltage up to about 15 volts (from 8 - 13 volts) before the regulator drops it to a stable 12 volts. Have to pull it to bits again and test it. Only happens sometimes though which is odd.
...(Comment Part 2) As far as restoring cars in Adelaide, I agree completely that the environment is perfect. I myself am undertaking the full restoration of an original 1975 Holden Gemini Coupe, and intend to drive it very often once it is completed.
As always, I love the project, and I've decided to maybe do some filming of my own when I am finally on my Ps, perhaps to capture the perspective and experiences of a younger driver.
Great you to hear you are restoring a car (and you agree with me that this is the best place to do it). A few years ago, I did my own restoration project (when I was living in another city) of a fully imported Jaguar Series II (3.4 litre).
I'm not a mechanic, I just taught myself as I went (albeit outsourcing some welding etc) that were beyond my equipment list anyway. It was an expensive project, but I really loved doing it.
So all the best with yours and it would be great to see you finish the project by then filming your perspective. We are all different and see the world in different ways (all of them valid). I think a new driver would also be refreshing to watch and would love to read your thoughts (comments) on things as you drive, b/c your perspective would be different to mine and that's how we all learn about each other and ourselves...
(Comment Part 1) The Lotus at 2:05 is an Exige, a late model made in perhaps 2007 onwards.
I'm not a european car enthusiast myself, but I've always loved the Lotus for being one of the few true 'Drivers' cars. Lightweight, balanced, and in the case of their design, have remained modern for many years
PS - the white car travelling right to left at 1:00 looks like an early Mazda MX-5 (Miata) which was coincidentally was based on the original small roadster - the Lotus Elan...
oh...so it is a confirmed lotus and it's an Exige? Thanks for that - it was quite lovely, and it really pulled away from the lights there like butter - so I get that balanced, drivers car (neither of which I knew before now).
You know I've often heard of Miata's esp when living in Europe - I hadn't drawn their correlation to Mazda until now either.... mmmm.... interesting

What's the name of the song at 5m39s ?
Nice power sag at 5m52s to the camera.
And yes that's a lotus exige earlier. I've seen a few of them here. Very nice car which corners well due to its low curb weight.
