Legendary early 80s TV. Television just isn't the same now - the innocence and charm has all gone, it's all slick, PR motivated, preening gash now with plastic models and "celeb" instead of real people like Johnny Ball, Keith Chegwin, Ron Pickering, Kenny Everett, Dickie Davies etc.
to be honest i just dont find this that entertaining at all, ok i agree american stuff has gone downhill lately but i still find that more entertaining. especially wwf attitude era..that was the best. Sorri its just my opinion

some juice might have been a good idea - anything to improve upon those puke-prompting gutbucketed blubbermountains. They could barely cross the ring without gasping for breath, the useless hams.
Even though the calibre of wrestling here is not up to the level of what the likes of later big man wrestlers like Vader, bam bam bigelow, earthquake, big show, amish roadkill and the head hunters could do, you cant deny the level of pops you heard in this match tho when haystacks fell into the ropes
My Mum took me to see these two when I was about 8 and I honestly thought that it was real - on the way home I saw Giant Haystacks crawl out of a Fiat 127 at a petrol station!!!
I don't think WOS actually admitted it was fake because in the 80's on Tizwas when BD and GH were on it, they didn't break kafabe and were threatening each other like they really hated each other
I saw these guys fight in southampton circa mid-late 70s. these guys ARE wrestlers. Now having haystacks getting out of a 127 WOULD be a youtube post :-)
@sandprof from southampton that brings back memories of Guildhall and Royal Pier, difference Haystacks was a gent out of the ring Daddy wasnt he also hated kids

this is not haystacks Calhoun?

@prchmc No, it's not Haystacks Calhoun. As another point of reference, Giant Haystacks spent a short time in WCW known as Loch Ness.

we all thought it was real until 20/20 did the fake thing. You can blame Eddie Mansfield for destroying the secret

yeah but Wwe got more popular when they admited it was fake...didn't the same happen to british it didn't really kill it like many thought it would.
