Sweden has remained unionised and we are in no worse economy. A union as well as an employer's organisation are efficient organs for mass negotiating terms and avoiding chaotic strikes. It is easier to meet an employer as an organised group than as individuals.

In a capitalist system, worker wages have to be lower than the worth of the product to cover necessary investments in raw material, equipment and profit. I'm not sure what the minimum wage rules are overseas, but you still have to eat.

Unions are almost non-existent today. Only 10% of the workforce have unions to protect them. Look at what we are paid today compared to the 60s when they were common. We are paid less today. How are people supposed to survive on that? You want them to take another dock in pay?

Unions must go! During this economic down turn wages must fall. Wages have to be flexible and as demand drops wages should as well. Part of the reason the automakers are about to go tits up is because of the unions.

I still dont understand how people are so disconnected. If the union workers had been willing to work for less I am sure the automakers would have received the bailout package. It all comes down to...
