@RadiantMeteor Lol! I paused at 3:10 in HD and could see her name is Arielle Berlin, so I decided to Google her and apparently she is an evening news anchor at 7 & 4 News in Traverse City Michigan!! You should get in touch and ask her for a date!!!
@BrendanLikesApple46 Any sources to back up your claims? Judging by your username, you are completely biased. I have seen and briefly used an iPad and I have no use for such an (expensive) device. I need something that can be easily carried around, is useful, I do not need 3G et al, either, I have a cellphone already. The Tablet has twice the RAM of the Fire.
@ACCFfriend yes it's like a itunes card but i think you have to order it online and when u set it up you have to type in your credit card account number i just got 1 a month ago.
The nook tablet is awesome. Only 250 half the price of the low end ipad2 the only thing that the ipad really has on the nook is the 2 cameras but they are like under 1mp and who takes pictures of videos with the damn ipad anyways?
@almankotb This is a good base tablet. No Android Market by default, but apparently it's pretty easy to "side load" the market onto it. Because of this, I bought two, one for each of my kids (6 and 8 years old). They will mostly use it for games (from Android Market) and Netflix.
Regarding the "in store" features of the nook... Basically when you go to a Barnes and Noble store with a nook, it automatically connects to the wifi and you can read any ebooks in store for free for up to an hour every day... Plus a nook basically gets you a free Barnes and Noble membership which gets you discounts on in store purchases including at the cafe, so you can go during a lunch hour for example and read any ebook on your nook for free in store, and the next day the nook remembers whe
What's the big deal with the "amazon ecosystem" anyway? I don't want to lock myself into getting all my content from one vendor... I have never and will never get my music from amazon... I own an iPhone which is my music player... I only load CDs into iTunes or buy from iTunes... I watch movies on Netflix, I like it better than amazon streaming... The selection, interface with the queue, reviews, etc... And now I get my magazines, news, and books from Barnes and Noble on the nook...
Although I have an amazon prime membership and shop there, I also have Netflix because I like getting DVDs and having the option to get any movie I want to watch... Plus even for streaming Netflix is way better IMHO, it has more selection... I've had both for years, and I've only watched amazon prime stuff maybe twice, most of the movies I've watched are on Netflix... While I like amazon, I don't want *everything* I own to have to be from amazon... I like the ability to choose my content source
Here is the reason I prefer the nook over kindle: aside from being a better piece of hardware, I value in store bricks and mortar experience... I like being able to browse a physical bookstore and with the nook tablet, you basically get a free Barnes and noble membership, which gets you discounts on in store items like at the cafe, and it let's you read any book for free for an hour in store, and you can have free in store tech support for the device if you have any issues...
Cool! Its kids friendly too with the books and software. This will sell a lot compared to others. Very nice screen and the rated 10hrs plus battery life is really good. Can't wait to get two!.
Here's the features of Nook Tablet - 1.0 Ghz dual-core processor, 1.0 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, battery is 11.5 hours reading and 9 hours of video, microSD slot up to 32 GB, fully non-glare laminated HD screen with the best viewing angles on the market, loaded with optimized Netflix, Hulu Plus and bunch of other apps (Pandora, Angry Birds, etc.), has a built-in microphone can be used with Skype for voice conferencing and for dictations with speech recognition software, weights only 14.1 oz
@samiruni How is the Kindle Fire better than this? I'm sure you must have a reason for thinking this . . . but in my opinion, the only thing saving the Kindle Fire from humiliation is the 50$ cheaper pricing. The Barnes and Noble tablet has almost twice the ram, along with a larger book collection..
@SchoolBoyToTheRescue It is all about the Ecosystem. Amazon allows you to tie in so many devices and services that the Nook tablet seems irrelevant. If you are looking for the most powerful 7 in device "today" go for the nook, but there is no way that BN will be able to replicate the Ecosystem.
Nook Tablet is $224 if sign up for Barnes & Noble membership. 1 GB RAM Vs. 512 MB RAM of Kindle Fire, 16 GB content capacity plus 32 GB via microSD card vs. 8 GB capacity of Kindle Fire with no expansion slot. Reading 11.5 hours battery life and 9 hours of video playback time vs. 8 hours for reading and 7.5 hours of video playback on Kindle Fire (even that 7.5 hours will not hold trues in tests, video playback drains battery much more than reading). Fully laminated HD screen for reduced glare.
@megaman616 basically the only difference between the Nook color and the Nook tablet is the High Definition feature and Internal memory. and also the record feature. so surely it's better than the nook color.
Why do modern corporations refer to themselves as "we"?
To think that the Western capitalist world spent resources, years and even started a cold war to destroy communism so that the very capitalist corporations that funded such enterprise against the "red enemy" could become communists in the end.
"we built, we are very excited, we care about children, we developed, we, we ,we ,we, we,we"
Stalin must be having the best time of his after-life.
@Daniel16399 By using "it" that is meant for things? Corporations are not people and the English pronoun "it" applies to the third person singular [objective].
"It [B&N] builds, it is very excited, it cares about children, it developed, it, it ,it, it, it, it"
Doesn't that sound more natural and less subliminal?
The Kindle Fire is going to OWN this thing!... Do you wanna pay $250 when all they offer is Books, newspapers and magazines??? No movies, TV shows, Music, accelerated browser or cloud drive???
Wow, what a RIP OFF!! Not only they STOLE the design and the name of this tablet from another company, they also named themselves exactly like the other company, "Barnes & Noble"! Now, how can you innovate these days where everyone steals your GENIUS products like that??
@xWhit3Devilx - iPad 2 is still much better than the Kindle Fire & Nook Tab. I own the 16GB iPad2 and I still believe it's over better tablet than those others.
I already have a netflix account, my gf has a hulu+ account, and having the additional ram, storage, sd card slot, and mic is well worth the $50 dollars to me. Cloud storage is great and all, but being able to store a good amount of content on the device is a must for anyone who plans to travel.
@TechWilling They do. Anything you buy through Barnes and Noble as a digital item, is logged onto your account and you can re download it whenever. Which means Books, Magazines, and Applications. It does not include music and video, which I think is 5gb free for amazon stuff and you pay for anything after that. But with the huge difference in space, you can make up for that, and of course dropbox accounts are always handy ;)
