a very entertaining song. but I think it got the place it had deserved. because none of the songs that year could cope with the Swiss and British entries.
Agree with you Setheurovision94 - nice, fun song but probably not worthy of 3rd. As someone else who has experience of singing, and pregnancy, it does improve your singing early on but by this late stage your lungs are completely crushed. It's amazing she was able to travel to the contest, let alone put on a performance like that so fair play to her!
Thanks a million for this, Seth, since it was the only '88 entry that was missing from YT! As for the song itself, I'm afraid my opinion is harder than yours. A fun perf, yes, and it's remarkable how Kirsten managed such a flawless vocal while being so close to birth, but the song is pretty "meh" to me. In fact, I'll go so far as saying that both song and stage act embody what most people perceive as "Eurovision kitch". And 3rd place in a good year such as this... yep, certainly overrated.
I respect that, as it was indeed a strong year, and one where the juries somehow managed to screw up the votes. I find this far less an offender than the UK's Scott Fitzgerald, but this was also the year of wonderful songs from Luxemburg, Norway, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and Sweden to name some. At least this always makes me smile and sing along (which helps if you know Danish). On Kirsten's vocal, according to my mother (who had some singing experience), pregnancy helps women sing better.
I thought this was their second best tune. "Det' lige det" was easily their best, and deserving of its high placing. The 1985 song was definitely not in the same league. If we're talking about overrated Danish songs, though, what about "Vi maler byen rød"? Which is not only not as good a song as this, but Birthe isn't half the singer Kirsten is.
Funny thing is, in 1989 the Swedish commentator, upon the closing of the Danish song, sang "Im Kabaret, au cabaret, to cabaret", and it sounded exactly the same in my ears! Dare I say that both songs are really catchy but I like this one better; it's a very funny song.
You're welcome, though I personally don't care for "Sku' du sporge fra no'en". I really love "Det' lige det", however, which is one of my all-time Danish faves.

One of the most overrated songs in Eurovision!
Bad schlager melody and awful performance. Not for Eurovision, it's for circus!

Kirsten and Soren were the true embodiment of Eurovision - great songs and fun routines, the good old days of Eurovision.

Pregnancy helps women sing better? Wow, didn't know that. Maybe it has something to do with the hormones or something...

Luxembourg was fine but Lara Fabian wasn't yeat very good and mature in her singing as she is now.

The reason to this, is that both songs are written by Søren Bundgaard. :-)
