  • a very entertaining song. but I think it got the place it had deserved. because none of the songs that year could cope with the Swiss and British entries.

  • One of the most overrated songs in Eurovision!

Bad schlager melody and awful performance. Not for Eurovision, it's for circus!

  • My country the Netherlands gave this cheerful happy song that just makes you smile and happy, the big 12 points!

  • Was she fat or pregnant ?

  • @YS28863

    Pregnant :o)

  • This song, even though I don't speak Danish, cheers me up.

  • is she pregnant ??

  • @ecila56 Yes, with a boy called Mads :)

  • @mianinja1 cool thanks

  • how many times did she repersented Denmark ?

  • @mobyboy Three times

  • @mobyboy 9 times

  • @mobyboy 3 times :)

  • Very good,

but personaly I liked Luxembourg and Norway better.

  • But again,

I liked this way better than UK.

  • @trinemartine nope UK were by far much better

  • @JamespolIeCE the UK song was not much better at all, I enjoy this Danish entry much more

  • Great song - one of the best from my country

  • Agree with you Setheurovision94 - nice, fun song but probably not worthy of 3rd. As someone else who has experience of singing, and pregnancy, it does improve your singing early on but by this late stage your lungs are completely crushed. It's amazing she was able to travel to the contest, let alone put on a performance like that so fair play to her!

  • this was very good indeed

  • Her hair lokks like an exploding pillow but the song ist really great!

  • Ps I understand we all have a different taste, but how can anyone say that this song was overrated when it spurs class from every single note ?

  • That's nice, well composed & staged and wonderfully performed , an original and fresh song ! I really like it .

  • It was the 2nd place ;)

  • Nope, it was the 3rd place with 92 points. The United Kingdom were 2nd with 136.

  • That baby, to born then, has now 32 years...wow...Jesus time goes on...

  • @kilomekilome

    Actually, 23 years old :-))

  • @svipser

You right...thank you. Guess i just put numbers in worng position (or just made a bad counting).

  • are there somebody who can uderstand it, exept from danes.. im a dane. Hvad that song is called in english "look what i said" ...

  • the English version of this song are called

"Who is wrong and who´s right"

  • It´s so crazy and sometimes ugly - so let´s watch it!

  • This is just great!!! Thank you ESC for all the fun and good music!! If you listen to the music.....it´s actually quite genious!!!

  • She looks like an aquamarine pineapple.

  • Yes, she does..but she gave birth to a son - I think it was 2 or 3 weeks afterwards. So she's very much pregnant.

  • How in the name of all that's holy did this thing finish 3rd?

It beggars belief. Nice set design though.

  • because it is very good and has stood the test of time unlike the winner

  • No really, how did it finish 3rd?

  • her hair looks so 80ties like

  • really funny the song is ok cool , lara fabian ,yardena arazy,ce'line dion the best of the eurovision 1988 !!!!

  • looking back at this it is really quite good and has stood the test of time better than Ne partez Pas

  • Kirsten and Soren were the true embodiment of Eurovision - great songs and fun routines, the good old days of Eurovision.

  • This is a good song, but a little overrated.

  • Hey thanks for this, I've been looking for it on here for some time now with n success!

Love this woman, she's a breath of fresh air, a very happy funny lady ;)

    cheers!

  • Thanks a million for this, Seth, since it was the only '88 entry that was missing from YT! As for the song itself, I'm afraid my opinion is harder than yours. A fun perf, yes, and it's remarkable how Kirsten managed such a flawless vocal while being so close to birth, but the song is pretty "meh" to me. In fact, I'll go so far as saying that both song and stage act embody what most people perceive as "Eurovision kitch". And 3rd place in a good year such as this... yep, certainly overrated.

  • I respect that, as it was indeed a strong year, and one where the juries somehow managed to screw up the votes. I find this far less an offender than the UK's Scott Fitzgerald, but this was also the year of wonderful songs from Luxemburg, Norway, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and Sweden to name some. At least this always makes me smile and sing along (which helps if you know Danish). On Kirsten's vocal, according to my mother (who had some singing experience), pregnancy helps women sing better.

  • Pregnancy helps women sing better? Wow, didn't know that. Maybe it has something to do with the hormones or something...

  • Luxembourg was fine but Lara Fabian wasn't yeat very good and mature in her singing as she is now.

  • I thought this was their second best tune. "Det' lige det" was easily their best, and deserving of its high placing. The 1985 song was definitely not in the same league. If we're talking about overrated Danish songs, though, what about "Vi maler byen rød"? Which is not only not as good a song as this, but Birthe isn't half the singer Kirsten is.

  • Ehm, I must say that this and "Vi maler byen rød" sound kind of same-y to me... (blush) - though I agree with you on Birthe and Kirsten.

  • Funny thing is, in 1989 the Swedish commentator, upon the closing of the Danish song, sang "Im Kabaret, au cabaret, to cabaret", and it sounded exactly the same in my ears! Dare I say that both songs are really catchy but I like this one better; it's a very funny song.

  • The reason to this, is that both songs are written by Søren Bundgaard. :-)

  • Thanks for uploading, my friend! I love this song!:D All three entries of Hot Eyes at the Eurovision were great!

  • You're welcome, though I personally don't care for "Sku' du sporge fra no'en". I really love "Det' lige det", however, which is one of my all-time Danish faves.

  • @setheurovision94 Their first participation in 1984 surely was their best one, you're right
