I'm a homosexual and I don't have any problem with not being allowed to marry. Marriage is just a word. We're still allowed all the same legal rights as straight couples, and we can have a special bonding ceremony if we like. There's absolutely no rights that we're being denied. I have no problem not being able to use a "term" that was born from the certain special ideals and change it for myself. I'm bonded with another male and we had the exact same ceremony as marriage.

dark -Actually my biology argument is fact. It reflects the inherent realities of nature. It's not that hard to grasp what the design of nature was. Sexually a man & a man are not anatomically compatible. Reproductively, a man and a man are not compatible. In parenting, gay parents are not as good as hetero parents. A child identifies with the same gendered parent. Common sense says, why weren't they given the capabilities if you're born gay & if gay is supposedly natural. It doesn't add up.

Striking judgment on other alternative sexual groups shouldn't be necessary since one's sexual life and preferences should be personal and not the business of every person in the community, much less state or even federal officials.
Also, permitting gay marriage won't halt straight marriage. There are at least 3 billion people in the world today, and I don't think letting a few million fall out of the gene pool (if they opt out of surrogacy) will pose a dire threat to the future of humanity.

Homosexuals suffer from many more mental health issues than do the general population, not because of homophobia. Dutch studies reveal the same thing and homosexuality is widely embraced there.

The church should stop complaining about sexual acts outside of committed relationships as that is the very thing they are trying to prevent.

I think that people are confused as to what RIGHTS are. You don't have a right to a job, or to join a religion, to experience love, pension, hospitals. These are either ideas, feelings, or privately owned institutions. Where do you have the right to force something from another person? Voting and Speech are guaranteed to everyone and if yours is infringed, sue for damages. The rest are state privileges that should be contract based and open to all. But RIGHTS are not PRIVILEGES.

I can live like everyone else, yes, but there are limits. I can't kiss a guy in the street like a 'normal' couple without fear of retribution and I can't tell my parents for the same reason. I also can't get married like a 'normal' couple can. My point is also that it isn't a choice. I could say no to being gay, like an alcoholic to alcohol, but I can't choose to fall in love with a woman. I wish I could, but thats just the way it is. I also wouldn't say homosexuality is a bad thing.

Let people who love eachother who are not within bloodline/of legal age get married if they want to. It doesn't effect anyone else but the couple. Before people say marriage is for procreation, what about couples who don't wish to have children(like me)? What about those who physically can't?
