Nothing is spared. Everything vilified, dragged through the mud. Slandered. Everything pure, every emotion sacred was spit upon....until every definition of right and wrong reduced to babble of Niggers and liberal thrash.
I've been a fan of this movie since I was a kid and I've never seen these deleted scenes until now. It shines a little more light on the characters and their backgrounds. Thanks for posting.
see it's too bad they left the second deleted scene out because in the ending speech, chris mentions Rahh's "possession of soul" and it wasn't mentioned in the final release, so it was hard to understand
@oeyesea I think it's a parallel with Jesus. Remember how O'Neal describes him as Jesus Christ early in the movie. And then the story of Jesus on the road to Gethsemane, how the apostles didn't recognize him under the veil until after.
I doubt that it was ever considered that Barnes should live. It completely destroys the whole plot and moral to this movie, which is that the Americans were not so much as fighting the Vietcong as fighting themselves.
@fuckoff187 up until now I always wondered how it is that in the edited version, we see Chris smoking pot during the sunset, and then he "smokes it for the first time" in the bunker.
why king always smoking?

I think the Elias look alike is shown in the real movie at the end as one of the two guys waving as charlie sheen is lifting off in the helicopter.

I don't think the guy was supposed to look like Elias, I thought he was supposed to be the personification of death i.e. The Grim Reaper etc.

yeah these scenes would have ruined the movie, nice to see them though, and taylor killing barnes actually made the ending...well, better!

the deleted scene when he sees a guy who looks like elias (probably his imagination) was kinda freaky when he started smiling and said later
