  • My results: Get on bike, bike falls over....

  • I learned to ride a bike when I was 4 years old and it was on an adult womens bike without the bar and I couldn't reach the seat so I stood up over the peddles but my 2 kids can't seem to get it and one is 8 (girl) and one is11 (boy) and maybe this technique will help them learn because they have new bikes that are just sitting in the garage for a year and a half now gathering dust. It's better than sitting in front of the tube playing video games all day and better exercise and so much fun!

  • I'm 14 and Im like the only one I know that doesnt know how to ride a bike and i tried but i get real scared that imma fall and hurt myself. I'm a girly girl so that doesnt help lol

  • I think it's sad some parents don't teach their kids to ride a bike, and they end up about 20 years old still not knowing how to ride a bike!

  • my daughter is 9 and she knows how to ride a bike really well

  • @MrSlimy123 so what - you wanna medal ???

  • I'm 50 and need to learn to ride a bike to improve my physical activities. I bought my bike and couldn't ride. I searched and found this tutorial video. I will follow and am sure I will master the tricks soon.

  • it was just one day no help like a boss

  • Im giving my kid a cervelo p3 XD

  • Took about 20 minutes to teach a resistant child how to ride a bike! Thanks great video.

  • Thank you soooooooo much. My daughter who is 8, learnt to ride her bicycle (which she has been trying to ride for soooooo many years,) in 30minutes. My hubby & I wish we saw your video earlier. Keep up the good work.

  • i learned a nbike in 2 days :D

  • It took 4 days for my teenage kid to learn and she'd never ridden a bike before. Great idea to learn the balancing part without the pedals first. Thanks for posting!

  • hahaha wow, im from the bronx, when i was learning my father had is friends drive up and down the street, he put me on and pushed the bike into the street, and said ride or die choose one... i can ride a bike now..., but im using wifi from heaven to tell you this lmao j/k

  • When I first learnt how to rid a bike, I was so excited about pedaling on my own I looked up and went straight into a tree. Didnt master steering straight away haha.

  • weeks? MONTHS??? i learned how to ride a bike in 3 hours

  • My 4 year old daughter and I just watched this video tonight. Went outside, practiced the technique and literally in 30 minutes she rode the entire block by herself! Thank you! She is so proud!

  • Oh my goodness thank you so much for sharing this video! After many many attempts my 6 yr old nanny charge was so lacking in confidence on his bike and after 1 afternoon using this method he has got it and is so very proud! Once again thank you from a very happy nanny!

  • Two summers my daughter tried to ride a bike. In one day, using this method, she is a bonified bicycle rider. Brilliant simplicity - well done!

  • I'm 16 and don't know how to ride a bike >.>

  • in 5/3 what size bike would i need cause i feel mine is too small

  • This is great, I'm trying it! My 11 year old had a bad scare learning to ride as a little kid and wouldn't go near it again. Especially with dad minimizing his fear it became a power struggle, and a stand off to this day! We can learn it when dad goes out of town and surprise him with it when he gets back! Wish me luck :)

  • Using this video as a guide, my son just learned how to ride a bike in less than an hour! Thanks!!

  • Comment removed

  • Taking off the pedals and lowering the seat? That's too much work. I taught my 6 year old son in 3 days using the traditional way...holding the back of the seat and running along side him. He didn't fall once.

  • I was trying to teach my sister to ride a bike and I told her to do this technique before I even watched this video. Only thing I was missing was taking off the pedals and lowering the seat. I actually raised it thinking it would help.

  • 10 PEOPLE DONT KNOW HOW TO RIDE A BIKE :(

  • @diana9martin6,HEY!I also don't know to ride a bike and I'm 11..

  • @diana9martin6 now its 15

  • i don't think everyone had much money to waste by hiring professional to tech their kid to ride bike...i don't think so........ honestly..

  • @sajhakancho100 It clearly stated in the video it's free.

  • i starded riding a bike when i was 1

  • OMG! I am going to try this! So funny that I considered taking the pedals off of my son's bike today, but figured that it was just ridiculous. I'm glad that I found this video to convince me that this may be the key to teaching him how to balance the bike! Thanks!

  • This worked like a charm for my 7 year old son who had a bad experience last summer learning to ride a bike when he tipped over into a brand new cadillac and dented it. Since then he lost all confidence in himself when trying to ride his bike. We tried this method with him this morning and after a half hour of doing it he asked us to put his pedals back on and he was off and riding and smiling.

  • Mighty books password

  • i learned how to ride a bike in 1 day by standing and riding and i did it in toys r us ... i almost cracked my skull open

  • Got my daughter a bike for her 5th birthday, she's now 8 and for one reason or another she never learned how to go it without training wheels. Watched this video, and 2 days later she can now go her bike! Found it works better on a gentle slope, where they can glide down.

  • I learned in one day...but my whole life I scootered and figure skated...yeah that helped

  • I learned in a day! my friends helped me when i was seven. The first tym i got my training wheels off was after i fell from them!! I wanted to get rid of my fear!

  • parents didnt take time to tech me to ride a bike

    *watches video*

    Bam thanks!

  • These parents need to learn about safety. Where is the kids helmet? Kids do get brain injuries. It happens.

  • @INLOGIX Yeah just wrap your kid in bubble wrap.

  • Thank you so much..I've been hitting dead ends trying to teach my granddaughter over the last 2 years how to ride. With a heart problem I could not run along side of her. This is a great thing

  • Took my daughter no kidding...like 5 minutes to learn after doing this technique, i highly recommend it to anyone who is trying to teach their kids.

  • Did anyone else notice the 16 year old at 2:03??

  • @Mr0regon no

  • @Mr0regon My daughter is eleven and can't ride without training wheels yet either. The reason is because we both work, and have two toddlers to take care of as well that we just don't have the time, and the other kids are not good at being outside without running off. I think maybe this person is in a similar situation. If only there were training classes here that would help. I also don't live in a house, and apartment areas can be hard to train in.

  • i learnt how to ride a bike when i was 4. :O

  • ♥ Liberty ☼ Libertad ♫ Freiheit

  • ridding a bike its like ridding a scooter

  • not to sound badass or anything but i learned when i was 5 on an adult bike with no brakes... i had to stop it by putting my foot on the back tire and skidding. Too much fun :)

  • Wow! This video really worked! 15 minutes, plus time to take off the pedals and....BOOM!!! The kid is riding!!! Thanks for posting!!!!!!!!!

  • I was sat on an adult bike and pushed down a steep hill. That's how I learned.

  • Do the skit.

  • My daughter is 5. This technique works. She learned to ride a bike in literally one hour. This was the first we have tried to teach her, I saw the video and thought I would give it a shot. Thanks!

  • AWESOME TECHNIQUE

  • On my first time i already knew

  • I learn things just by watching people. I learned to swim and ride a bike by watching people on tv and on the streets.

  • Thank heavens for YouTube and thank you for sharing. What a great technique!

  • My goodness. After months of struggling my daughter rode her bike unaided for the first time in a little over an hour using this method.

  • Just fyi you don't have to take the pedals off. Use a slightly too small bike, and have them just push to balance arround the pedals. Then teach them to pedal after they learn to balance. My son learned in two days this way and he has autism and is motor skills challenged.

  • Nice video... First night of trying to ride the bike without training wheels ended in crying and frustration. The second night started with 15 minutes without the pedals and then my 6 year old was asking for me to put them back on. 5 minutes later she was pedaling down the street on her own. Thumbs up!

  • that bike is too big?man, her feet can be flat on the ground, that aint right.i always have to put one leg over my whole bike, get one foot on the pedal and jump to my seat pedaling, i ride tall bikes too, but thats too big for her?! stupid parents!

  • Anyone with half a brain could have figured out this was the best way to teach someone.

  • I taught myself to ride a bike and I was 19 or 20, can't remember. I never had a bike if my own because my old bike was left at my aunts house. Anyway, I was teaching myself to ride my nieces bike which was way to small for me, then I beged my momto let me get a bike. Well one day I decided I would try and ride on the grass and that didn't work, so I went out on the pavement and i coukd do it.

  • first u put training wheels on then u gradualy raise them to build balance..

  • Catch up on 29 years ? WTF ? Once you learned it, you can't forget it, even after 29 years ...

  • Thanks so much for posting this video, and thanks to all the people who replied for giving their feedback on how well the method has worked for their kids in real life. I am so gonna try this with my 6 year old and 3 year old who does not want to pedal but still would love to be able to move forward while on the bike. Thanks so much

  • i am going to try this tonight with my kid we have struggled with it for awhile now. It looks like it should work.

  • 5 minutes and my 7 year old boy was wanting his pedals back on. Another 5 minutes and off he went. Now to work on his twin sister.

  • @noobenstein go with on this 2

  • I wish I knew about this technique when I was learning. I learned it the traditional old-fashioned way, and it resulted in many painful falls.

  • I taught my self at age four on a bike that was meant for a 12 year old . My feet couldn't even reach the ground and i was able to to ride on my first attempt .

  • My daughter was very apprehensive to ride her pedal bike. We followed this method and INSTANTLY she was balancing on her bike while coasting down our driveway. I put the pedals back on and she was gone. I was stunned how well this worked.

  • my brother cant learn i dont know if his bike is too big or small or he has nohand eye coordination he's 8 years old and 4'2 what size bike does he need ?

  • Thats a cool way of teaching your kids to ride a bikw. I had to teach myself at the age of 19 and it was haed. I wish I new this techniq back then.

  • WE are going to try this today. I have a 6 year old daughter who wants to learn how to ride her bike. She is so afraid of falling though. This is a great way to keep her from falling and having her be in charge of the bicycle. We will let you know later how this goes!!!!

  • I learnt how to ride in 20 minutes being taught with this method!!

  • Worked in less than one day. Thanks

  • i learned how to ride a bike in 5 mins. someone held the back of my bike and i pedled until i didnt know he left

  • AMAZING TRICK of taking off the pedals! Worked for our 8 and 6 year old boys within minutes!!! (after many other methods failed).

One important point - when we took off the pedals, we hadn't realized that there is a left and right pedal and we accidentally put them back on the wrong way and almost ruined the bike...thankfully we figured it out and our kids LOVE bike riding! Thank you!!!! (Can you teach them how to do homework now?)

  • THANK YOU RICH CONROY!!! I have 2 daughters & they learned on their own w/ scraped knees & elbows.

I used your coasting & balance technique and my son learned in 5 minutes. He loves his bike, through away his scooter. Thank you for this highly, usable video instruction,

    Kathy Joyce

  • What a great idea! I've seen balance bikes, but I like this better. Why buy a special bike why you can make adjustments to a regular one? Can't wait to show my nephew!

  • Awesome, worked for my lil sis and bro.

  • Worked for our son too! Fantastic! Wish we would have found this sooner. :)

  • i cant ride a bike cuz i forgot to, GREAT HELP!

  • excellent idea: worked for our 4-yr-old, no stabilisers now!

  • It worked for us our son is now free of wobbly stableizers and now Wants to ride ! Brilliant

  • great stuff, hope they can still do it as quick on motorbikes lol cos thts all they talk about motorbikes .

  • Brilliant idea, will try this with my son at the weekend!

  • another lesson to learn to stop?! its not difficult to use the brakes

  • I must try with my 5 year old son

  • This is a terrible way to learn how to ride.

In my day, my old father just took my out to the woods one day, put me on my bike simply said "boy, you ride, or you die." before setting loose his hunting dogs on me.

Which was really nothing compared to how he taught me to swim.

  • Rings true for me too lol

  • lol!

  • lmao

  • @The1stPoster What an asshole father you have...

  • Could you peddel with your heals almost touching your bum and your knees coming way up? It's like teaching them to drive with their chest against the steering wheel. The kids look like monkeys on bikes... The seat is just too low. They should just be able to touch tip toes on the ground. It's safer.if you fall to the side, you want to be able to get your leg out fast... you can't when it's all buckled up. their knee is likely to hit the ground first... raise the seats guys

  • But if it teaches them to ride a bike in 15 minutes which would normally take weeks or even months. Isn't it worth it?

  • it's very simple i learned ridding when i was like that kid at 2:55 NOW I RIDE DOWNHILL all you need is speed for better balance

  • Im like pro

  • i learnt in like 3 hours

  • me nd my bro jus kne hw 2 ride a bike as soon as da trainin wheels came off

  • i rember trying to ride lmfao what messy times

  • they shouldnt put there feet down, i remember just riding for ages and ages until i came to a stop by crashing into a car lol

  • How old should your kid be before you begin teaching them how to ride a bike?

  • probally about 4 or 5

  • i was taught the old way. top of a grass hill! a little push and some advice. pedal or fall. i picked pedal/!

  • lol the best way

  • same by uncle would take me up this concrete hill and I'd be really scared and he'd push me, It works better than anything but it hurts like hell as you fall over a lot on concrete

  • nah tis a good way of teachin em i think...am gona show my boy dis technique.....saves much blood & tears

  • you lot are thicko's these bike people know their stuff

  • Sorry, i shouldn't laugh at this video. What on earth is happenin here?. What's wrong wi the old way of holding the back of the saddle, letting the wee one think ur still holding on to it, and of they go!!!! It was so much fun that way lol.

  • don't tell me how to raise my kids

  • I taught myself @ the age of 4 took me 5mins to learn

  • cHECK MY VIDES OUT EVERY YOU WIL LIKE IT :) /watch?v=n4y6FFzhqe0

    LOOOL

  • I taught myself an mastered it in 1 minutes :D

  • I tought my self at 7 lol

  • I remember back when i was young I started off with stablisers and then got new bike and went 2 wheeled. This new technique seems interesting but I guess its down to the child as no child is the same when it comes to learning.

  • Too old!

  • I always used to fall over when i was little on my bike lol

  • I was about 8 when I learnt because my mother couldn't afford one before. My brother is 6 and he learned in about a day. I took 1 and-a-half days, but it's good enough. It's ver hard to learn but now I know how to so much I can't ride my brothers bike with stableizers - I haven't done it in ages!!

  • lol

  • i know a guy who learnt to ride a bike when he was 13!

  • i was 16 wen i learned lol

  • dude kid in my school is 17 and cant ride a bike :L

  • Learnt when i was 4. Never used stabalisers. I don't know what all the fuss is about anyway. Its not a core skill.

  • @NWDarkPassionPlay It iis a core skill.

  • i learnt how to ride a bike at 4 :l

  • i learnt when i was 3 with only 2 wheels lol

  • first time i tryed was when i was 5 on just a 2 wheeled bike. I did so awsme. All i could do was fall to my sides. lol Then i managed to go strait.

    Then slowly started to spin.

Then started riding round trees. Then managed to ride good enough. Then i became a mountain biker then i became a pro if i may say so... Anyways this vids cool. Well done.

  • first time i tried to ride off stabilisers, i crashed into a dustbin and hurt my knee alot! lol

  • I learnt in less than an hour when i were 6. My cousin took 1 stabaliser off at a time and i couldnt ride it until i got on a hill then it was so easy to balance... from then i could always ride a bike. Try sitting on a bike on a ramp with ure legs up and if you can balance you know how to ride a bike!

  • man i remember d first time i tried to ride a bike i just didnt get it but then my bastards of cousins pushed me off a hill n b4 i knew it i could balance d bike (tho i didnt kno how to turn) so i crashed into the shop at the bottom lols so from then on i could ride a bike

  • LOL great story.

  • I learnt when I was 7 took me two days by my dad holding on to the back of the seat then letting it go but I didnt know he let go and I was riding it felt awesome i was on the beach aswell =). Funny thing is though my mate laughs at me because he learnt when he was three but when I was 7 but when i go out with him to hang around he rides and wobbles all over the place still cant balance and falls off all the time he runds funny too lol XD

  • thats really good idea lol i didnt learn to ride a bike til i was liek 12 lol kept fallin off all the time and puttin it. takin the pedals off i never thought of that :d birlliant idea:D go you !!!!

  • I learnt on a Yamaha, 900-cc. No stabilisers.

  • aha yerr man

  • that's a great method. i tried it with my kid, just took off the pedals and let him push himself along until he could balance. stabilisers are no use because kids lean to one side and let the stabilisers do the work, so they don't get the trick of balancing the bike. nice work.

  • Haha nice bmx ;D

  • i got 4 sisters and i remember teaching them to ride their first bikes..LOL

  • I learnt when I was 5. My parents just let me get along with the bike alone for whole evening.

  • I learnt when I was about 6 or 7. My dad just pushed me, said he wouldn't let go, he did, I didn't notice and I carried on riding (:

  • Haha, same here. I was about 5 and my dad said he would hold on to the back. Then I look behind me and he was a good 100 metres further back. (I panicked and fell, but at least I knew I could ride a bike).

  • Classic teaching =D

  • I was so angry at him, I started crying because he let go.

But the technique worked, all that matters.

  • I used this technique on my 3 year old son back in 2002 he took about 15 mins

to work it out i did take off the crank set and rear sprocket and chain i called it a coaster i gave it to a friend for his boy to learn he done it in less than half an hour.

  • i learnt at 3

  • lamachun

  • i think this is quit sad i learend how to ride a bike own my own at 4

  • i learnt when i was 5

  • i learnt how to ride a bike when i was 9!

  • I've just watched this vid. Looks like a good idea.

  • I learnt how to ride a bike when I was 6 months old. I think it was a Harley.

  • I learnt how to ride a bike when i was 2 o.O

  • lolz 6!

  • 6 year old that cant ride a bike. Lawl. This is such a pointless video. They actually filmed this. Haha

  • now if this was Moto-X Yeaaah

  • sad that i still don't know how to ride a bike

  • Yes, very.

  • thnks now i can ride my bmx

  • Will give it a go later with my son.

    Finger crossed it will work!

  • I was willing to try ANYTHING to get our 7-year-old to finally learn. Watched this video and decided to give it a shot. Within an hour she was riding on her own. Amazing. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  • used this method today after struggling with my daughter for months, within an hour she was riding :)
