Pagan here in West Virginia. My dad's catholic and my wife's christian...Dad chose his religon..Wife chose her's...I followed after My great Grandfather...He never mentioned what religon he was or even if he had one, He did not have any religous symbols or writings, but was so respected among our family noone dared to ask... I think he was pagan. He had a extremely strong bond to the land and plants, always farming and growing plants and food and working with Trees, and avidly distasted hunting.
I'm Pagan and fortunate enough to have a family that accepts my beliefs enough to ask me questions. If I could find me a Pagan guy or girl that could rock my world, I'd be thrilled. Sadly it seems like I'm the only Pagan in my area of South Dakota and I'm in a very religious town so I end up fearing for my safety more than not.
Its not Christians per se,..its Hardcore Fundamentalist Christians who mess it up. Now I too have to keep my views quiet at family gatherings as one side of the family is Southern Baptist and the other is Catholic,.... so it has made my dating life rough,..date a Pagan girl [which are hard to find here in central FL] and have to warn her to keep it lowkey,.....
im actually christian but i love the beat and have no issue with any religion, i actually have friends in every kind of religion, unfortantly most of those friends are not welcomed in my house when my mother is home because she is so closed minded and wont even try the music like this. i agree with most people, everyone should be more accepting of others.

People don't tend to accept new things well, and christians and pagans is a prime example of this. Thank you for being you, among the christians who are cool with the pagans!

Thing is, at least, how I see it, pagans, because there are so many different systems of beliefs thrown together into one lump sum, have to be more open minded towards others, even in their own religion. Imagine, for a moment, that the Church were not standardized, there was no bible to tie everything together. People would interpret the different tales differently and there would be hundreds, not dozens of forms of Christianity.

I am a christian and I tell all my pagan friends Blessed Be and they tell me God bless you. I think it's ridiculous to argue over religion. I'm friends with people all over the scale. Just because someone worships another religion doesn't mean they are a terrible person. Read up on religions sometimes all you christians out there. You'd be surprised how much our religion revolves around Pagan symbols and rituals. Blessed be, everyone.

My parents are...OK with me being 'Pagan' as long as I'm not 'Wiccan'- b/c they still believe witches are evil. My dad even said it was because the Bible told him so, and he would not believe otherwise. Even so, I am incredibly thankful for having these wonderful people as my parentts, even if the only reason they are so tolerant is their divorce. (They won't lose me too.)

What really sucks is being a closet pagan at an extremely strong Christian college. I even believe in the Christian god even though I worship others, but I still will not tell others that I am Pagan. Maybe one day I will manage to find a pagan girl, but there is no way I will ever find one at Belmont.

Reading these comments reminds me of my situation now. My boyfriend, who is strongly christian, loves me yet he still feels uncomfortable about me being a pagan. My family and some of my friends don't even know i'm pagan. To those who do know, they respect that and my two friends who are also pagan. We are proud to be pagan girls no matter what!

I'm not giving up no matter what! This is my calling, and I must follow it. However, it's hard to practice my religion when I can't set up an altar, read books about paganism, or hang out with others that share my beliefs. My only source of information is the internet. I worship in secret, without an altar.
I'm EXACTLY the same... It sucks... But I do go down to the river at night sometimes to light a fire, then I like singing the songs I learned from YouTube :P
@bbarker04 That's exactly how I felt (well, how I still am really), but I feel great! :) All you need is a terribly big amount of patience to get something to start you. T'was a camp for me.It's only now that I feel advance after when I was ready with the basics. I'm actually doing a ritual to celebrate this "spiritual refreshment" and thanks the Gods :).
They will always, always be there for you, whether you have an altar won't influence it. Just have true intention and they'll embrace you.
@bbarker04 Remember that an alter can take any form. It doesnt have to be fancy doesnt even have to be a table or flat surface. Find a place in your personal space (a dresser top or closet shelf maybe? put things that mean faith to you on it. Flowers, a candle a cute little toy pony. Intent is what powers not the form. I just recently came out of the broom closet after 10 years of silence. I lost my sister and put strains on most of my other relationships both family and friends.. The only one who stood by my side was my husband. He is a christian. He loves me. He is happy to have found his Pagan girl. Why can't more Christians be more like my love?

well i'm a wiccan guy... and i've got my pagan girl :) my family is pissed at me because i came out of the broom closet... my mother is the only one who is even accepting that i've found my own belief... my pagan girl is the one who introduced it to me and i took an interest and now i'm a wiccan... i never liked being a christian because of all the hate....

My mom is Christian but she is opened minded most of her family is like that and ok with me being a pagan but my dad's side of the family I am still in the closet I have to pick and choose carefully who to tell because my father is a big overboard Christian aka (Bible thumper) thinks he knows it all but he has started arguments with pastors. =/ So my bf is Christian he thinks its interesting but not too into it but he don't mind he will join me in sabbats but thats all. He likes the goddess idea

I'm not giving up no matter what! This is my calling, and I must follow it. However, it's hard to practice my religion when I can't set up an altar, read books about paganism, or hang out with others that share my beliefs. My only source of information is the internet. I worship in secret, without an altar.

@bbarker04 That's exactly how I felt (well, how I still am really), but I feel great! :) All you need is a terribly big amount of patience to get something to start you. T'was a camp for me.It's only now that I feel advance after when I was ready with the basics. I'm actually doing a ritual to celebrate this "spiritual refreshment" and thanks the Gods :).
They will always, always be there for you, whether you have an altar won't influence it. Just have true intention and they'll embrace you.

@bbarker04 Remember that an alter can take any form. It doesnt have to be fancy doesnt even have to be a table or flat surface. Find a place in your personal space (a dresser top or closet shelf maybe? put things that mean faith to you on it. Flowers, a candle a cute little toy pony. Intent is what powers not the form.
