  • All of the versions, this one is on top with Hank Williams and emmett miller

Gimme a Thumbsup if you agree.

  • She had an amazing range. Listen to the high octave note at the end here and yet she could sing mellow low notes like on 'Crazy'. She will always be one of the greatest female country vocalists that ever lived, no doubt.

  • this is beyond amazing

  • WOW...she is sooooooooooo very sweet here, effortlessly pours out angel tones,

filled with passion and nails that last pure note. My wife is from across the globe

and she says that the old American country music is the most passionate heartfelt music ever made. Patsy and Hank Sr. are her favs. .....surprize....she's 28 and black, just goes to show how great music transends time and trends

  • There is another version on here of Patsy doing this song. if you think this is good you haven't seen the other one. Do yourself a favour and listen to it.

  • beautiful talent

  • this is 100% auto tuned

  • @davidaffa

I know you are being mean, but the funny part is you are right...Patsy Cline's voice was 100% auto-tuned at birth

  • I love u patsy!

  • The BEST female vocalist ever who made recordings and who sang at WSM!!!!

  • Love you Patsy

  • Patsy was a one of a kind and will never be replaced!

  • Love the lady. Wonderful singer..

  • Patsy Cline was one hell of a singer. I love her music, and so did my Grams.

  • simple, direct. and all get out. shoot, what happened to simple c&w where a good voice and some great guitar was all you needed?

  • ooooooh what a beautifull dream

  • asbolutely effortless..

  • Thank you and I've used your video in one of my articles on Examiner.com.

  • @richardcwood1 I remember when Patsy, Cowboy Copus and Hawkshaw Hawkins were killed in that plane crash, what a loss of good tallent.

  • I have always loved her when she sings a Hank Williams tune.

  • Anything Pasty sings is great listening music. Nuff said!

  • She had brilliant voice RIP PATSY!!! :)

  • look right at me, Patsy :)

  • ...Can you imagine, how perfected God's chorous must be, with Miss Patsy's voice amongst it - I can only imagine, 'Absolute Sonic Alchemy'...

  • She looks alot like Marie Osmond

  • She's just amazing. I really really love her sweet voice. Kind of sugar for my ears and my heart.

  • What an incredible style.

  • Sorry, Hank, but I like this version a little more than yours. I hope you don't get too upset...

  • Patsy is near perfect!

  • Her son looks so much like her it's unreal.

  • All the older singers got fat and I kept if off and all you have to do is back off eating.Jack

  • God Bless Patsy Cline . Today would've been her 78th Birthday.

  • happy birthday beautiful

  • SHES THE QUEEN TO ME..

  • The Best Female singer to ever live. Against Patsy all the rest are just amateurs.

  • One of my favourites, thanks for posting

  • What a babe...awesome voice.

  • Patsy is the greatest. If I'm not mistaken Bud Isaac on steelguitar

  • love this song, even when frankie sung it x

  • this should be the most watched video on youtube not that lady gaga shit

  • Love that old-fashioned look and great vocal sound, oh Dear Patsy!

  • lovely !

  • this woman sure can yodel

    i LOVE her

  • wow this just made me want to buy a patsy cline cd. i'm familiar with her hits but never really listened to her voice before...beautiful!

  • amazing...great voice =)

  • Hank Williams and Pasty Cline sings a great Version of this song , I wanna sing it myself !

  • wow, amazing!!

  • I cannot watch this without crying and I am seventy years old and should be over it. What a talent, what a loss. If there is a god and heaven I hope you are there Patsy.

  • Her voice was not of this earth, more like an angel's, and the way she carried herself was so incredible....a queen!!

  • She's so present and alive. Simple and beautiful.

  • Yes, a very special angel..... hello...

    John

  • the female version of hank williams, lovely, what a voice .

  • Absolutely beautiful.

  • I have a few friends who dont like country music (sad, i know) I showed them this video of PC singing. Needless to say their jaws dropped..

  • i love patsy cline :)

  • Just read her biography, what a big loss for such a talented lady...I bow my hat to her...she's got that nice voice, a good 'ol country accent, I really liked it...may her soul rests well...

  • This song really shows the potential of her GREAT voice.

  • i love her semi-yodle

  • Wonderful recording. There are so few of Patsy and that is a shame because she was great. A life and talent cut and taken too soon.

  • Great! This is better than the other recording on youtube. Just the right tempo on this one.

  • Where do you get this old footage?

  • Brilliant. And a big smile at the end ;-)

  • She looks beautiful in this clip.

  • Great performance by Patsy of one of Hank Williams's classics! There's never been and never will be another Patsy, those of us who love her still miss her!

  • Another wonderful post! crazy4patsycline rocks!!

  • I couldn't say anything more perfect then what

    vaman77788 said. (5*) Sherry

    Thanks Paul for the share.

  • OMG! I am totally in love! Patsy you left us early because God needed perfection and he loaned you to us for a brief moment of time. Thank you for sharing your incredible voice. You enriched us all.

  • Beautiful comment.

  • @vaman77788 no one could not of said it better.

  • Patsy Cline was the best singer that has ever lived!! I LOOOVE Patsy,

  • Love Pasty's version and tempo.... thaxs again! john

  • wow to the last note!

  • I know! It's so effortless, for her, as well as the yodeling in the rest of the song. She has such control of her voice.

This is one of my favorites of her songs, along with Pick Me up On Your Way Down--not hits, but should have been.

  • yeah! i no looool

  • Ferlin Husky.....so handsome!

  • Patsy always did great.

  • Went north again this summer and stopped in Winchester and saw Patsy's final resting place.....and Staunton ..... and went by and picked up a book and some shirts at the Statler Brothers HQ. I'm not a spooky type person, but going to Patsy's grave (At 6 pm when they play the bells..) is "different". RIP Patsy (And Cowboy Copas and ol' Hawkshaw Hawkins) I know she had bigger hits..a LOT bigger......but this is my favorite. GREAT Clip Crazy4!

  • There is no way this is from 1960. I'd say this is from 1956.

  • Yes it was from1960,.

  • I think there is some confusion here. Patsy performed "Lovesick Blues" on the "Prince Albert" portion of the Grand Ole Opry on April 2, 1960. This is NOT that performance. This is the Jamboree performance circa 1955.

  • Very good!

  • she did pretty good but hanks version was better

  • no way,,I 'll go for Patsy 'sversion ant day.

  • I'LL GO FOR PATSY'S VERSION ANTDAY!!!

  • she sings this song great what a talent

  • Wow. She was just incredible. Thanks so much for sharing this one!

  • haha ganahan gyud akong lola ani oi

  • Love her... from Spain

  • Another phenomenal performance! He voice is so strong and crystal clear. She said she had a bout of rheumatic fever when she was thirteen. She said, "The fever affected my throat and when I recovered I had this booming voice like Kate Smith's".

  • ~there she is! not one singer today can touch this talent! Just walk out and make the angels blush with that beautiful voice! Makes me want to get to Heaven sooner to get to Patsys Biggest Concert! Meet me in the Front Row!

  • Clear as a bell! Her simple performance outshines all the hip gyrating non-sense coming from so many talentless singers out there today.

  • @houdinididiit you are so right.

  • Yup Leanne Rimes sure sings it well...I also love Linda Ronstadt's version!!!!!

  • i love this version but hank williams sr is just a killer!!!

  • WHAT A TALENT!!! Patsy was one of the most versatile singers this earth has ever seen. Yodeling is incredibly hard (try it sometime). Her range is unbelievable too. Her final note in this song blows you out of the water so obviously her range is far greater than she's been dubbed (as a contralto). In either case she was a MEGA TALENT and there is no one today who can touch her. She was truly blessed with an incredible talent and thank God she shared it with us.

  • Agree 1,000% with you Intel!!! I've been to Patsy's grave...we're both born in Virginia, both in September..."Sweet Dreams," still to this day, tears me up...I'm not thinking about any personal memory...just Patsy's performance...

    Wayne in Texas.

  • Ahhhh la amo!!!

  • That yoddeling gives me goosebumps-its so perfect!! Love this song. I loved when she did yoddeling in the songs. I wish she hadn't been taken so soon.

  • what an amazing yodel...

  • I'm curious who would be the modern equivilant of Patsy , in modern country music?

Man, I can't get over how beautiful she was, and her voice was angelic.

  • there is no modern equivlant to Patsy Cline. There's some good ones, but none come close to the Cline

  • gillian welch. amazing singer. different to patsy though

  • neko case is probablly the closest modern day version i han think of.

  • Although Patsy is in a class of her own and my all-time favorite, my own personal opinion is that Leanne Rimes comes closest to Patsy. She also has fabulous vocal control, an unbelievable range and can yodel with the best of them.

  • I love Leanne, but I really think she lost a lot of her range that was so close to Patsy's; unfortunately that happens with puberty and adulthood to a lot of great voices. Billy Gillman for instance.

  • @TitanicTarn1968 Ronee Blakley is the only singer I have ever heard who can come close to the Cline. But really, Patsy was Patsy. Never will be another.

  • I think you are absolutely right. Ronee Blakely was and is a brilliant singer and deserved her oscar nomination for NASHVILLE in 1975. I take my hat off to her but there can only be one Patsy Cline.

  • Check out the Kelly Carpenter version of this song on YouTube - almost as good.

  • patsy cline is great singer wow country music realleys needs her now she can sang anything and still sound great

  • This is Patsy Cline at her best. If God has any heart at all he will send us another Patsy Cline and keep her right at this age.

  • Would you look at the quality of this? I love it. The way she is looking into the camera, it's so personal. 5/5.

  • patsy cline is so cool! nice to see rare video of her.

  • TREMENDOUS

    Thanks

    Dave

  • Wow, that was so cool to watch. I like that version better than the CD! Thanks!

  • I like this version, but also the one of the record.
