I hear you, man. But there could be any number of reasons they missed the vote. They could have missed it because they knew it was going to pass no matter what and to say, "Fuck this, I'm not even a part of this." But at the same time, from what I understand the US gave up a hell of a lot of what they originally wanted. And Iraq has shown their not going to simply be pushed around. There's not telling what's going to happen in the next couple of years over there.

that's certainly true and it really does speak to the power of the economic recession in the US that for the first time ever the US constitution will be respected by military personel (in terms of being under the laws of the country of residence instead of US law)
