Thanks for posting this. It's something that many people need to learn. I've seen my friends run ragged because they have dance and all AP classes and sports and internships and volunteering all in the course of a week (my one friend has all of these and probably more @_@)

I think that people feel terrible when the say no (and therefore don't say it) because they think that they're doing the wrong thing, when it could actually be the right thing.

I almost never say no.  I guess I just get excited when people ask me to do something cause I'm happy that they thought enough of me to ask. However, it also doesn't take much for me to recharge. Usually I only say no when there is a time conflict.

another problem with not being able to say no is that you say yes to things that conflict with one another. For example, a promise made to someone that contradicts with a promise made to someone else. It will ruin a relationship and make you look bad.
