i think that anytime you invest that kind of money in your car, it will need tuning to gain the best out of the mods made, so it automatically become a tuner's car. you can either riced out a jap car, or red neck out an american car. choose your poison. it's funny that some gtr owners hate to hear some call a gtr a tuner car, if it wasn't for "fast n Furious" most of you woulda never known what a skyline was, import scene is where its at because of riced cars.

I didnt know Lingenfelter did just tunes and exaust. When i see Lingenfelter Vettes at the track, there 800rwhp - 1000rwhp, high 8 and 9 second cars all day.
The Lingenfelter fell backwords it's 1/4 is 10.03. The new Switzer R35 R850 is running 9's now albeit 9.904. They also have a Lancer which is quicker than them both. 9 ARS 1/4 time of 9.734.
To all you people making comments... The P800 can almost keep up with a Koenigsegg, a 680Hp Vette will not touch it... The GTR in this race is a camera car. In the other races of these same cars, its both of them with camera men actually racing. In this its just recording. @iPROFITDON The ZR1 has 42hp more then the stock one... I would hardly call that stock. The SLR is probably lightly tuned. Oh and I thought these were videos off of dragtimesinfo page or whatever its called thats why I thought it was a P800. They have a bunch of videos that look just like this. Regardless the GT-R is pretty much just a camera car.
@twztd28 42hp is a full exhaust kit and tune, that is all, which is why I said basically stock. I see why you did think that but this is a HKS Stage 2 GTR, look at the other videos with this group of cars. And no the GTR was in it to win it, he just got walked all over. SLR is stock.

They fixed most of there problems for the 2012 model. but the 2009-2011's have some serious reliability issues. I would take a stock Z06 over a tuned GT-R any day. @twztd28 Actually the 2012 Nissan GTR has a feature that if you hold up the Attesa AWD control switch for obviously its aggressive race mode, if you hold it down its also has a fuel saving mode that de tunes the power for bettter fuel economy but the best bit about it is, if you hold the Attesa control switch down for four seconds until it blinks, then the GTR will drive in RWD only. That means more fun for people that would like to spin out the back wheels for say burnouts, drifting etc etc.
@twztd28 No the P800 GTR featured in most videos against the ZR1 LPE is gunmetal grey, owned by Oleg. This is infact an HKS 570 GTR which is black vs a ZR1 LPE 730 HP vs Stock SLR
@MasonTrance I wrote this comment almost half a year ago when I was a little less GT-R savvy... Regardless I think that, the ZR1 in this video is not running 730 crank HP. It's either a shitty tune or the driver doesn't know how to do anything, considering the fact that a stock ZR1 will burn an SLR for the most part.

Why is everyone arguing so much? These are modified cars. Regardless of who wins or loses, it doesn't say a whole lot about which company made the better car, just who poured more money into theirs. Give me enough money and I could beat both of these cars with a Kia but a GT-R and Corvette are both still much better.
@CorvetteRacingFan Well the 680 hp package for this car is like 3k plus the 110k for the zr1. The slr is about 500k so it's not whoever put pours more money on the car in this case.
Stock for stock man or forget it. Although I think the Corvette would still win that in anybody's mind who isn't either a Euro fanboy or a huge fan of interiors. I don't think too highly of Mercedes mostly because I think they are overpriced and overrated but they are very fast and very nice and they are competitive performance wise in stock form.

@stlchucko Dude I'm referring to the LPE ZR1 not the TT 427 C5. I should know a bit about lingenfelter as I bought some parts for my vette from them. They make good products but expensive compared to modding your vette yourself.
this has only 680hp... its a stage 1 kit and all it has is some tweaking of the air intake, fuel flow, and some tuning... they have a vid of like a 800 or 900hp GTR racing a stock ZR1 and honestly doesnt beat the stock ZR1 as bad as you'd think... the stage 2 LPE package or whatever it is has like nearly 800hp and would have detroyed that GTR if it was...
listen...this vette has geiger and lpe together...and its the same corvette that owned the v12 brabus and 800 gtr....and lpe dosnt come with one spacific hp rating...its called psi adjustments...and that isnt a 722 SLR either this vette runs 680 on 14 psi and 720 on 18 psi...yes it does that much more damage on 4 more psi...=)

@1986capy Yep. This ZR1 has the basic lowest level Lingenfelter modification. It brings it to about 680 crank hp, and about 590 rwhp. Lingenfelter depressingly rates their cars at crank HP. So an LPE 700 is only 700 at the crank. About 610 at the tire. From this race, it's obvious the McClaren is not stock either. The ZR1 has run 10.7 in virtually stock trim, with sticky tires. He didn't seem to drive that badly here, which shows that the SLR is definitely not stock... :) Take care!

The LPE stage 1 from wut I've seen ranges from 680-720 depending on certain things that I can't remember...so u got the hp number right ;-) I'm not sure though that's a P800 either; P800's r a hair faster than a ZR1 LPE Stage1 from a roll in the video's I've seen

gtr is the successor of the old gtr skyline, r32-33-34-35.
yeah in my opinion ws6 would be in the same class as a toyota supra, although the supra was a far more reliable, and better performer all around car.
and if you don't want your car to be call a tuner, leave it stock.

They fixed most of there problems for the 2012 model. but the 2009-2011's have some serious reliability issues. I would take a stock Z06 over a tuned GT-R any day. @twztd28 Actually the 2012 Nissan GTR has a feature that if you hold up the Attesa AWD control switch for obviously its aggressive race mode, if you hold it down its also has a fuel saving mode that de tunes the power for bettter fuel economy but the best bit about it is, if you hold the Attesa control switch down for four seconds until it blinks, then the GTR will drive in RWD only. That means more fun for people that would like to spin out the back wheels for say burnouts, drifting etc etc.

@1986capy Yep. This ZR1 has the basic lowest level Lingenfelter modification. It brings it to about 680 crank hp, and about 590 rwhp. Lingenfelter depressingly rates their cars at crank HP. So an LPE 700 is only 700 at the crank. About 610 at the tire. From this race, it's obvious the McClaren is not stock either. The ZR1 has run 10.7 in virtually stock trim, with sticky tires. He didn't seem to drive that badly here, which shows that the SLR is definitely not stock... :) Take care!
