A little speach on the state of chinese guitar imports,Gibson,Dean,Ibanez,Jackson!

At last I found a positive video about these guitars.. I just bought 190$ Jem 77FP and it came to my front door in 5 days. And it is great, no complaints.

@mikatarkela89 that is a big part I try to get across to these nutbags! I (2 years ago) bought 2 actual gibsons that were built at Japan Epiphone and taken to china and poorly assebled then sold really cheap(140-170 bucks) my friend at Gibson told me the place -tradetabg and ioffer and the sellers (who are gone now) so I bought 2 more chinese copies -gibson cheap trick explorer,complete with broken neck, so they only charged me $25 and a great dime-slime razorback.So you and I are happy!

If its a product that the US company no longer makes, there is really no issue getting the Chinese counterpart. Unless you plan to sell it as real.

@mdskewes dude do you have an esp explorer or something with those "emgs"? are these emgs real? i contact those guys from the shop and they said they are real but i dont believe them....they often put the emg85 (gold) in the bride...are these real activ emgs? and of couse youre right. of course chinese can build good guitars too. i mean even bc rich guitars who cost like 900 bucks are crafted in china.

Gibson and Epiphone are TWO separate companies. They use different hardware, woods, electronics. There is little similarity other than the fact that they are both musical instruments. The only business relationship is that exists between the two Gibson allows Epiphone to use the "Les Paul" name. Check your headstock. 17 degree angle is a Gibson, 14 is an Epiphone. Essentially, the china made guitars are knock offs of knock offs...with a chance of getting completely ripped off.

@phillyfrankb ok ,whatever.my friend works for Gibson,he is an old roadie of mine.what I told you is basically what Ithe 3 guitars I got have been verified as REAL Gibson.when they were flooded in Tenn. they did the japan thing,hey,this is also cnn,msnbc,fox and upi. It dosent matter what you think,I know what I got and that all that matters.

they just use other materials to build the guitars , they are still decent for the price and don't look bad but aren't close to the originals by far

with a little research,I got the $25,000 guitars I wanted for under $200 bucks and less. I got what I wanted and and now no chinese knock offs. What I got was real gibson custom shops.I'm done.

The wood in these guitars cost about 50 dollars. If you want one of these guitars, go online and purchase them from overseas for less than 3 hundred dollars. All you will have to change are the pickups when you get them. Don't be ripped off by Paul Reed Smith, no guitar on planet earth is worth even over 10 thousand dollars, don't let these foolish people make a fool out of you and steal from you by way and means of price gouging.

One way to tell is to open up the electronics....quick look will tell you if its Gibson or China....Reason is all NEW Gibson's have that electronic board under the POTs. Why, to make less wiring and faster and better. The reason I know is that I bought a new Lester from Gibson in 2008.

WHen it takes too long.,they dont have the model and try to switch you to a different one OR they just send the wrong one to complete the order is what Ive heard so stay away from Dave he screwed a friend

I ordered off a website, not tradetang, but i ordered it, they supplied me with the tracking number but nothing shows up when looking up the track number... They said it was shipped Feb 12th, now its feb 22 and nothing... should i be worried?

@mdskewes ooops didnt finish.so I got 2 real Ace les paulsand 1 zakk V ,had them totally redone so it had all the correct equipment and now 3 guitar I got for under 200 bucks and now have 3 geat custom shop gbsons.I also(when I had the money) have an Ace l.p. bue burst that has the gowing pickps ups done.And for the heck of it I got a "Gibson cheap trick explorer from just a random seller ontradbang and got2 months later a very fake guitar witha neck snapped in half.but they paid me all back!

i dont see why people are calling trade tang a scam im currently interested in a gibson les paul with the big tremlo system with the three pickups for under $300 exactly the same one like the VOS and the original is around $7000 before taxes and shipping i mean like i can buy the guitar and spend $500 for pickups and i have a perfectly good guitar

Is there a way to order a Chinese Les Paul and be sure that you will get one that is made out of mahogany?

Most of these copies are made out of basswood with maple necks but I guess real mahogany ones do exist.

Question is: how to get one of those and not a basswood one?

@Svet69 Dude these sites operate pretty well. the guy i bought my Slash appetite Les Paul from showed me a picture of one that he had in stock. I told him i wanted it with a better Flame Maple top to put in cream binding, make sure its a Mahogany body, and to give me right walnut stain on the back of the guitar. You have to talk to the sellers, if not they will assume you dont care and send you anything. All these mods take time so they figure you dont want to wait and send you what they have.

@Svet69 besides Basswood is a very neutral sound its not like the guitar is a les paul model made out of Alder or something which would give it alot of brightness

I figured that you have to talk to the sellers and make sure that you are gtting what you want. Still, you can't be sure.

Another guy who has a video review of a Chinese Les Paul told me that he insisted on Ebony fretboard and he got a guitar with a rosewood FB regardless. They were like: "Oh, sorry about that. Pay $180 to ship it back to us and we will send you another one" ;)

It's a scammy deal.

Basswood is like a sponge. It's too soft and kills the sustain. Produces that mushy Ibanez sound.

I checked them out, and viewed your video. Your word seems good enough for me, my brother. I,m looking to get a lefty Gibson Zakk Wylde Les Paul and an Ace Frehley Sunburst 3 pick up Les Paul(KISS 4 LIFE). When I'm ordering, there's something that says "piece" next to the price, should I worry?

The escrow system they are using on tradetang now stops most people getting ripped off, just when it arrives ask the delivery guy to wait while you check the guitar if its not what you wanted don't accept the guitar and tradetang wont give your money to the seller until your satisfied....also ioffer great place to haggle (and they have a similar system in place)

@AHMADF93 all i do is rip out the pick ups and put in duncans, dimarzios,emg's and have it set up and they are great!Nolw the only problem I have had just happened. I got a guitar with a broken neck!I e-mailed the company or seller I should say and they said I could send it back or fix it and they would foot the bill!well,I'm getting it fixed and they just gave back 10% of the cost just for starters and then they hopefully will pay the balance,which is $200.almost what i paid for the thing!
