  • scoobyfan2009 posted one video in 2010 claiming it was of his car when actually the guy who owns it is jay05 who has tons of videos. LOL Scooby WHAT A FUCKING FAILURE AT LIFE!!

  • Actually mid 400 hp would get cobalt into tens with football mod and a set of slicks....secondly u dont even need any mods but tune to get cobalt 300+whp....people who claim cobslt ss tc are slow just havent got thier ass handed to them by one...its frustraiting all the ugnorance on youtube

  • tc's are super gay

  • ya way to give cobalt owners a bad name with this pos vid of a cobalt doing a ricer flyby. fag!

  • @MooreProductionsMP3 looks like a normal race between a modded ss/tc and a sti.... the new (08+) cobalts are monsters, at least in the world of 4cyls

  • Lol yeah that STI really had his foot down.. Rofl people like you kill me with all this bullshit about racing a car that you know you will get smashed by. And then that car is not even racing.. HAHa POS Chevy.

  • @scoobyfan2009 so a car that traps 114mph would get smashed by what seems to be a stock sti?

  • @scoobyfan2009 again another biased idiot talking shit! get ur shit strait buddy untill an sti can beat a t/c on the track keep ur bs comments for you and your dumb friends! haha "pos chevy".. thats y a turbo will kill an sti all over the track even a 20mph roll sti will get whooped! an sti 80 over are about as fast as a cobalt s/c with intake and exhaust with 225hp.

  • @boo1086

My shit is strait "boo"..... You are missing the point. Stock for stock the Cobalt losses. And now you are talking about putting a intake and exhaust just to compete. I know what I am talking about I race for a living. I have raced MANY cobalts and have yet to lose to one. I have 12k into my STI and have raced cobalts with 15k+ in then and I DESTROY them. Why does it have to be a roll? AWD loose the most HP on top end.

  • @boo1086

Further more, let's put this is in a real world situation. Let's say it's raining or there is snow on the ground. And then race them who is gonna win? Oh should I get to the point that a Subaru is going to outlast any Chevy 2 to 1. You will go through 2 Chevy's before a Subaru will quit running. Just accept it and you will see that Subaru is far superior than Chevy. BTW have you looked at the 2011 STI? Spanks a TC Cobalt even from a roll.

  • @scoobyfan2009 omg! haha now your talking about racing in the snow? and about subaru being reliable.. hahaha! every single person i know with a wrx os sti have issues. take your biased logic outta here.. lol and about ur 2011 sti being faster? well your wrong that called an opinion not factual data. its 305 or so hp and weighs over 3300Ibs.. hits 60 in 4.9 sorry buddy not so impressive numbers to me, wrx gets to 60 faster. good luck pulling next to a tc stock vs stock on the highway!

  • @boo1086

Are you kidding me? I have raced several times after it has rained out. Did you not read the part where I said I had done this for a living? I make a damn good income doing this. I have raced in the snow and in the rain before. Circuit racing doesn't cancel if there is some rain or snow dumb ass. Also weight and power do not play 100% on how fast a car is. Lets try some aerodynamics and gearing also. So little boy go play your racing games some more and leave the big boy talk to us.

  • @scoobyfan2009 again you have too much time on your hands making shit up. come to chicago waker drive n see whats up. you talk like you know alot about cars when all you say is very general bits of info that really mean nothing. again your new sti cant beat a tc. sorry go play the new gt5 i know u have it already. scoobydoo fan haha.

  • @boo1086

Lol scoobyfan would be because I love STI or Scoobys dumb ass.. Look at my videos I built the car myself. Tunes it myself. So don't tell me I don't know anything about cars.... Dumb ass.. Boo??? Think you are a ghost?

  • @scoobyfan2009 great comment, did you think of it all by urself? thats all good we know your really tough! again ur sti is slow and heavy a tc will walk it on a track. good luck trying to prove your point to the next guy bc you havent came back with anything worth talking about since your 2011 sti's are still slow.

  • @boo1086

LOL SLOW!!!! BAHAHAH dude I run 10.56 in the 1/4. So I'm just going to quit talking to your dumb ass. Anyone that says a mid 10 second car is slow is just plain and simply retarded. Oh BTW heavy??? I have basically stripped the car so again you FAIL! Lol walk me on a track! I can't prove a point to a idiot! Lol my STI slow! BAHAHAHAH!!! Again go back and play your Forza kid. I'm guessing you drive a Cobalt LT? Couldn't afford the SS right? You are just a inbred chicken fucker!

  • @boo1086

BTW just to let you know how "slow" my STI is I walk Z06's. When was the last time you seen a Cobalt beat a Z06? NEVER! You are such a dumb ass.

  • @scoobyfan2009 bro just stop your making yourself look like a jackass.. there are plenty of 12. 11, 10 sec cobalts with LIGHT mods no internals FWD so stfu! dumbass

  • @boo1086

You are a true idiot! Show me one video on youtube with a lightly modded SS that is running 11's let alone 10's. You won't find one! And FWD looses more power top end than AWD dumb ass. You are a true FAIL at life and even more so at thinking you know cars.

  • @scoobyfan2009 Ok then by your logic how does a awd 265 bhp wrx put down 225 whp @5500 rpm and a fwd 260 bhp cobalt ss put dow 245 whp @5400rpm if FWD looses more power??????

  • @boo1086

You would need 500+WHP out of a SS to get into the high 10's.... Since when could you gain 300WHP out of light mods? NEVER dumb ass! Go learn your shit little boy...

  • @scoobyfan2009 y would you ever race on the street in rain or snow? your sooo stupid!

  • yeah i bet you beat a charged 350z..they will do high 13's stock...there is a turbo'd one in my city running 5 pounds and he does high twelves..your telling me your cobalt ss with k and n filter beats supercharged 3.5L v6 350z's hahahahaha

  • @currbag i have a video of me doing it..... i have a passenger and he doesn't..... all i have is a tune, air filter, and catless dp i put multiple cars on him...

  • Sti wasnt even racing. lame

  • Cobalt jumped the gun...the STi doesn't even look like it gets on the throttle until the Cobalt had been running for 2-3 seconds. That said, the new turbo SS Cobalts are faster than STis and EVOs from a roll. From a dig it's a totally different game, but from a roll the STi doesn't have the pull the new turbo Cobalts do. On the mod front, 3 mods, esp. the ones listed (and on the Cobalt which doesnt respond overly well to mods comparatively), aren't going to drop a Cobalt SS into sub 13's...

  • there has been a cobalt alrady that dropped into the 12's with just a tuned. depending on the tune some have broken 310 whp tune only

  • @Masterthief30 actually they are faster period except in the quarter mile which the sti lwins barely oh and on the slalom course sti gets raped by a cobalt anyday im runnin a 2010 balt tc with a supercharger

  • you didnt do 12.8...your saying with 3 MINOR mods you can shave off a second on your 1/4 time..why do other turbo vehicles take internals and BT'S to do that?

  • @currbag

Good argument but the thing with the SS turbo is it comes completely forged from the factory. The stock motor has now held up to over 430hp. I think closer to 500 but Im not really sure. After about 330 Horsepower you need to change the clutch though. The LNF motor is a remarkable piece of equipment. The stage kit alone pushes horsepower to 280 and torque to around 320. Stock SS record 1/4 mile is 13.59.12.8 is easily attainable. Low 13's would be the average though.12.8 the exception

  • Because the SS comes fully forged from the factory and the Turbo can handle up to 27 psi safely stock. It has also has high pressure fuel injectors and direct injection. The Tune alone sends it to 280 hp and 320+ torque, and that's GM's tune. Some tunes push 310 HP. Doesn't take much.

  • They actually come with cast pistons for some reason and I have a compressor map handy and the stock turbo will only operate to 24 psi with 70% psi and it flows about 407 cfm at 19.5 psi. The turbo can handle 28psi but there really is no point because you are basically making a high pressure heater at that point.

  • correction - 70% effeciency

  • @Hemihart

Interesting. Lol, now I don't know what to believe. Everyone has a different opinion and a good explanation behind it. Guess only time will tell.

  • @8BALT but its still FWD

  • @ObviouslyBoredKid

Drive one! Cornering grip is ludicrous and acceleration out of turns in very predictable and powerful. Downshift and accelerate to pass someone on a road way and the transmission, acceleration and power are butter smooth. The car just drives unlike any other 4 cylinder FWD, But yes, FWD does have its limitations (Mustang GT 5.0 is my next car for that very reason) but Chevy really did a good job of eliminating the majority of them. You have to drive it to understand.

  • wow no one knows anything but clifford..a new SS T/C could not beat a new sti..whether it be from a roll or a stop..just look up 40-100mph times 0-100mph times and 100mph-150mph times...it would take a minimum of a chip, full TB exhuast, full cold air intake on a cobalt to even have a chance of keeping up with the much superior STI

  • Finally, someone with some common fucking sense. Upon further review of the video, you can clearly hear the STI down throttling and droping RPMs. If he were even remotely interested in racing, he would have kept his RPMs up in order to spool the turbo faster. Nobady, especially in an AWD turboed car, would make that mistake. This guy clearly just whooped some ass and was coming off the throttle from, probably, whooping the Cobalt seconds earlier. Classic Honda fly-by action here.

  • the cobalt is probably faster than teh sti btw. mod v mod it makes more power

  • OMG ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL watch my vids and erase your comment lol i have a vid with my cobalt all i have is a tune (NO SUCK THING AS A CHIP FOR A COBALT :) ), a k&n Drop in air filter (not full cai), and a catless dp with STOCK catback (not full tbe)..... with those 3 mods i ran 12.8@ 113...... make sure to watch my vid of me WALKING on the supercharged 350z look for a dig of that same race soon

  • @widowedeight yep no chips for a cobalt

  • This is funny considering the STI did not even try to run.......

  • what we have here, is a punk ass cobalt trying to line up with an STi that could care less. And then he proceeds to hit the gas as hard as he can while the STi driver laughs at him with his friends. This is such a pussy video

  • stock for stock, the ss/tc will walk a later gen sti. I've raced a couple of them when I was stock and the stock ones would be pretty much even til the top of the ss's 3rd gear then I'd pull away, but not by much. Now the ss with a tune will walk sti's with bolt ons. I've done that too ;) Good race none the less, get the sti some mods and go for another run.

  • pfff....this dude is so full of shit it's not even funny. Where's that video. And an STi can "bolt on" 400hp, stupid. You think a chip is going to make your fucking cobalt beat out bolt on STis? Whatever

  • you know, I'm not even going to comment about that. You should also know that AWD cars are great for 2 things, launch and handling. Once rolling, they need a LOT more power to keep up because of all of their drivetrain loss. Why don't you just stop being a Cobalt hater man.

  • shoot, look 4 posts up and you'll see I'm not the only one that knows this. aajaro even says this too. There is even a video of a buddy of mine with LIGHT bolt ons and a tune beating a bolt on EVO IX. Now is that NOT possible either when there's video proof right here on youtube?

  • describe "LIGHT" bolt-ons, and tell me the exact bolt ons that were on the Evo, and boost levels of both cars, because most videos on youtube do not tell that information. which is why their reference is not exactly relevant. Such as this one where the STi didn't even race but the title still says "VS"

  • aajaro also says that even if it did win (which I doubt), it wouldn't be by that much, clearly ensenuating that this STi was not even racing.

  • I can't hear any honks. I just see a cheap ass video.

  • Ya, stock for stock (I own a cobalt SS T/C) No chance for the SS. Although the pathetic part about Subaru is that the WRX is now faster (and way cheaper) than the STI. LMAO!!

  • lol i take it you've never raced a stock sti, stock for stock the new ss turbo is faster from a roll than the last gen sti...

  • wow.... u are wrong about stock for stock....

  • I didn't hear the honks; I had the music up. That's why you guys had the jump, unfortunetly for me, my car is too slow to catch up ='(

But no excuses, a win is a win! Nice run though guys!

And I agree with Flowers, that Cobalt is NOT stock, which the STi was.

T'was me in the Suby ;P

  • the cobalt didnt jump

    its not a stock cobalt

and if you listen really closely you can hear them honk off

    =)

    just a fast turbo cobalt

  • is the sti stock? if it is the new cobalt turbo should still win from a roll stock, but not by that much

  • Whoever was driving the cobalt obviously jumped...I eat cobalts for breakfast in my STi

  • Stock ones. Race me i'll enlighten your punk ass.
