I completely agree. The pain after the baby was born was worse than the actual labour itself. Sad part is when you don't expect it, it just feels so shocking and hard. I wish I'd read somewhere that the labour after pains would be so difficult and that recovery would take a while on the body.
Unfortunately being pregnant means you lose all modesty LOL Good thing I never really had any anyway. I'm sorry that you didn't get the birth that you wanted. Good luck in the future ones, tho. Glad the baby is healthy.
Thanks for sharing your story. I am sorry your birth didn't work out the way you wanted. I also had a planned natural birth with my son, but it ended with a c-section.He was born at a maternity clinic in Japan. It was a huge shock and really hard to deal with. I am due in July with #2 and we have some great midwifes to help us this time, so we will have a home birth (hbac) this time around. (in Canada) Thanks again.
Great job staying calm and positive about your experience! Way to go mommy! You CAN hace a VBAC - vaginal birth after cesarean. I'm glad you made the right choice for your family! Praise G-d for your success! May y'all be blessed!
birth before? Couse I could not hold back on the pushing! I think I had about 4-6 minutes with active pushing and he was out. After one hour I had no problems with brestfeeding him.
I want to do the same next time I'm having a baby, but I've been told that no labor is the same, so I can only hope that it will turn out the same way as the first. Ofcourse I had pains during labor but I still did'nt want any pain relief, and not going to next time either...I hope. Thanks again for sharing
Hi! Thanks for sharing your story! I had a vaginally birth myself whan I was 19. It took about 4,5 hours from the contractions started until I had him in my arms. No problems during labor, and no kind of pain relief. I had a small tearing (4 stisches) and about 200 ml blood loss. When it comes to the pushing, haha, they told me not to. And when they told me, I thought to myself ; ok, I know that they have done this before (couse its their job, but have they ever given
You think that's big, my girl was 10lb 9oz!! I'm lucky I had a c-section before she had a chance to get stuck, she wouldn't even drop down after 11 hrs intense labour. Her head was 38cm so there was no chance at all of a natural birth as I'd hoped, because I'm told I have a small pelvis... much to my disappointment. But I am glad it wasn't an emergency, and we were both happy and healthy at the end of it all. It could have turned out ALOT different if I had a different OB, he was just awesome :)
I'm really sorry things didn't turn out as planned:( I admire that you tried your best for you and your baby. Of course God knows what is best for us and sometmes things turn out different.
@rddbba Oxytocin and Pitocin are the same medication, just different names. it also goes by the name syntocinon. It is the same hormone your body makes naturally during labour, as well as during breastfeeding. It is routine to give this medicine post delivery as it reduces the risk of post partum hemorrhage, though breastfeeding the baby immediately after birth will also have the same effect.

you needed a VACCUM delivery so doctor turns babys head as he pusses baby out...rotating head the rIGHT way...not forseps ridiculous you could have refused more than the same person puting hands inside of your feeling head they are studying.....learning....with a person who gave not consent.
just wanted to point out that the epidural is the safest form of anesthetic/angelsia for pain relief for the baby...stadol and other such drugs are much worse, and can cause lethargy, but epidurals typically have few if any effects on the baby. Also, 10 hours start to finish for your first is still really good!
... but 10 % of mothers are so much in pain or shock that thesafety of baby in mother;s hand is at risk ... this is especially true in cases of difficult deliveries especially forceps or meconium stained for these mothers i give 1 shot but then if they dont response we have to take them away for resuscitation
but one thing that i still would like too tell is that you sounded so much disappointed at how the hospital trated you ... is it so or am i mistaken ...... and yes about the maternal infant bonding after birth ...w ell i give the baby to the mother soon after birth and congratulate her 90 % of women would smile and kiss their baby and i encourage them to breast feed asap
episiotomy and that too in primi is very very good . As for the problems that you faced ..you can always ask people to give you space . everyone respects that and you would have seen people going out of the room ... for the internal exam , unfortunately this cant be avaoided because a hierarchy of doctors has to see and confirm whether forceps is feasible or not its not easy for the doctors too you know because they are residents not the chief ...
well from your story ir seems that the baby was really tightly wedged up in your pelvis and the cone on the head is actually called a caput , The OG gave you a nice option of forceps delivery and i feel under epidural effect you had a pretty good job done , the baby was fine , the oxytocin that they gave after the birth is actually called AMTSL ( active management of third stage of labour ) and had to be done because it saves lots of blood loss . and then finally having a forceps without an
Your midwife was very good. They are trained to know what is considered a safe "normal" birth: when it's safe to deliver at home, and what is not normal: when it's time to go to the hospital. Thank God for good midwives!
wow you did amazingly under the circumstances! I'm glad you didn't have to have a C, its so hard to recover from and it affects the future births too! I had one baby by C section and I'm wondering if a difficult vaginal delivery is just as difficult to recover from..

this is a perfect example of the type of women who have never had a child before but "know it all", think they are going to have an "all-natural" birth & preach that pain management drugs, epidurals, hospital births etc. are uncecessary.. until they are actually IN the situation & realize sometimes nature doesnt give you much of a choice-
I'm glad you didn't have a c section. Its just a very traumatizing experience. I had a c section a year ago and plan on having a natural birth next time god willing. Its very good that you were able to have more options. I'm glad everything went well in the end :)
i think thats amazing. i know so many people that have had kids and could answer my questions because they simply didnt know anything, they just had the baby, and thats it.
I felt violated with too many internals as well. so i know what you mean. It doesn't seem necessary and nobody bothers to care how you feel about it. I have had forceps before it's not the most pleasant experience. I had tearing and lots of blood loss so your really lucky you didn't tear much. oxytocin is usally given anyway. (at the end) Congratulations, i agree afterbirth pains can be worse I had five kids and ihave to say the pains was less each child.
no no no nooooo i had a c section an want to have natural next time....AND my giurlfriend has c cestion 2 years ago and she gave bith naturally last saturday
so lucky that you got so few stitches! I had a bunch and healing kind of sucked :-( also remember just because you're ever in a hospital, you can always tell people to leave, or quiet down etc etc
Couldn't your midwife have tucked in the baby's chin while you were still at home? How did the doctor do this?

Do you have any pictures of your birth canal or dilated vaginal opening? I think we could learn a lot from looking at them.
