when you defeat the wall of flesh 3 alters appear, a corrupt, normal, and hallow alter, you side with one, ally with the creatures in that zone, get perks, weapons, spells, armor only available to that faction, and you win that world by conquering it completely with that terrain. also your NPCs are changes accordingly in looks. A new NPC appears *Faction* General. The coruption general is a walking eater of souls, normal is a goblin, and hallow is a fairy. //whew//
