What i wouldn't give to go to the record shop featured at 3:02. They have a Frankie Knuckles and Phuture section in one stack just imagine what other classic stuff they are going to have in a shop full of records.
Go to Vancouver BC there is a fantastic record store with literally hundreds of frankie and old school house tracks... Got voodo ray there, original 12" vinyl about three months ago
thats grammophone records at 2841 north clark in chicago. great store to go to get new dance music as well as kstarke and mr peabodys in chicago as well.
Man I miss Ron and the THE BOX! he was the best. Frankie was cool in all but back then he could not come close to Ron Hardy! Ron could Mix frankie used to slam not mix the records in.
This interview is awesome!!! Please, Zen5656 can you tell me the title of the record playing from 1.41 to 1.50??? It makes me go crazy!!!! Thank you!!!
Thanks so much for posting these Philroyian. Remember watching this at the time as a segment of some show presented by Pete Tong (clublife 98 as you say).
Was probably one of things that kick-started my obsession with the roots of House.
Lets keep it real people, HOUSE MUSIC started in Chicago! On the south side not in New York!!

Cool interview - really like the bit with Frankie at the end coming back to the warehouse.
Need some help people - what's the very first tune with the female vocal that is playing underneath all the talking during the first 2 minutes?
