(My post above say's that they were moved back which is wrong-sorry) While match racing this car some was noted as saying "thats a Funny Car" due to its altered wheelbase. In 1965 Chrysler built several race cars to Landy's design and they compeated in the "A/FX" class ("A" Factory Experiment)

The driver's of Nitro cars wear a five layer driving suit over a fire proof suit which is why they can walk away from a fireball like this, and the cars body took most of the impact of the crash. This car is still racing today with the body off of the other car involved, check out my video of Ricky Steffens to see it.

I don't recall Tom Hoover being in Australia for this meeting. My recollection is Andrew Cowin won it with a 4.98 at 298mph, but I could be wrong.
