my sister is a nurse & knew a family that had all 4 children with NP, although i'm not sure which type it was. as someone with chronic health problems myself, i understand the pain & fear that comes with being sick and not knowing why.
Thank you for the wonderful video. I didn't know that there was early childhood alzheimer's disease until now. An elderly relative of mine has alzheimer's. I also had a second aunt who had dementia. Bless the Beasts and the Children has always been one of my favorite songs by the Carpenters. Sometimes by the Carpenters (with Karen singing) is my favorite. Short song but very meaningful. Regards.
May I ask what you are working on? Are you researching a specific treatment? There are so many who are desperate for anything that will save their children from this devastating disease.
I am scientist, and I am working on NPC disease, and I hope that I, and our group would find a treatment cure for this disease in the near future. God bless all our children.
my sister had this horribl disease. they diagnosed her from a skin tissue. she died 1 week after her 5th birthday, its just sad that i think about it because her first years she was normal until she "started going back in time" and even move
I am very sorry for your loss. We struggle every day with this disease and we pray for a miracle for Gabrielle, who just turned 7 last week. "Started going back in time" is a profound way to describe this disease. I wish there was something I could do or say to comfort your family. Just know we are trying to fight this disease, and community support.
my brother also had niemann pick type c i was his carer for 9.5 years we were blessed to have him a lot longer than you had your beautiful little girl brendan was 21.5 years old when we lost him on the 9th july 2004 it still hurts everyday and i miss him so much so i know what you are going through i alwats tell my self that it would of been selfish of me to want him to keep fighting when he was so tired and couldnt keep fighting any more.
Animals are healers indeed. My Reckless is, and isn't obvious that Skye is a healer as well. Blue Skye, the Border Collie in charge of Marjie's daughter. She is an amazing dog to say the least. Like I said, the connection between child and dog is so powerful, I see it often, but still can't explain it.
Once again you have chosen the right music and pictures to demonstrate your message of love. I think animals are healers in so many ways. Look at the joy on their faces. Thanks for raising the issue of Niemann-Pick Disease and letting us meet this precious little girl.
It still amazes me, the people that I reach in this forum, the friends that I have made, and the wonderful people that truly love and care in this world.
thank you for your confidence and your support!!!! My talents are not mine to own, as I am guided, with regard to my animal rescue videos, and my drive to help Gabrielle, by Someone much more important than me! Love you, please help me spread me word. Not just for Gabrielle, but for all families that suffer, including all of those who suffer from Alzheimer's.
To learn more about all of the organizations involved in this video, and more about little Gabrielle, please read the "About this Video" on the right of the video. Thank you!!!
Ah, thank you for quoting this song a while back! You can visit GabrielleLaVerde (dot) com and visit her website, and share this video and the website with friends who are as compassionate as you are!!! Thanks!
Those of us in the animal rescue venue know too much about credibility, as we are constantly doubted, unless we are personally known. But when it comes to a little child, there should be no questioning the validity of the need. Gabrielle is quite real, as is Niemann-Pick Disease, as are all of the reputable rescues and organizations that helped put this video together are. Keep the Faith!
Thank you, Gisele, for lending your personal credibility to Gabrielle's plight. It is sad to say that people have to be concerned as to whether a heart-wrenching story is true or not, and as a result deserving souls such as Gabrielle go unaided. You know Gabrielle and her family, your reputation and credability are above reproach, so it is as if WE know Gabrielle! Thank you for reaching out to her with your gifts and talents, sharing her story with others.
A wonderfully done video. I hope that it accomplishes your goal. Until the news of this young girl that you had posted I had never heard of this heartbreaking disease. My heart goes out to the family and this beautiful young lady.
So I'm sitting here with tears running down my face. Thank you for this beautiful video. It makes my heart ache for all children who are suffering from NPC.
how the hell is that possible. that's nuts! Sorry so so sorry!

spread the word. Alzheimer's effects children, and it is just as debilitating and horrific.

Maybe one day, Danielle, you will see that you will be, and are, an inspiration to many, and that in itself will make a difference.
reckless1962 3 years ago
I pray that you are right. If it brings NPC out of the shadows and aids in treatment/cure, it will bring me some peace. Until, then battle wages.
