Im a firefighter/paramedic for over 9 years now and I love my job helping people and saving lives been a passion ever since that I can remember. But when I go to work I always say to my Kids will see you when my shift is over, and that is what gets my family through all the tough times or when they hear of a fire and they think that I might get hurt and not come home they will always remember that daddy is doing his job that he loves saving lives. i have to say that YES those words before shift makes all the difference. i am about to marry a firefighter of 12 yrs & counting as well as a sailor of 10 yrs & counting so keep telling your family that because it does mean so much to them. thank you for what you do.
Best HIGH I ever had was saving my father in laws life, he was choking and could not breath, my mother in law screamed for me where he was in the bathroom and she was so small she couldnt heimlich (dont know if its spelled right, but u know what i mean) him, I yanked her out and had to do it twice but I got the food to come up, and when he took a deep breath I asked if he was ok, and he shook his head yes, it was an unreal feeling! God bless and stay safe bro!
Awesome video. i have been a Fireighter in New Jersey for almost 6 yrs and its alwasy cool to see the amazment in childrens eyes when they see you, and you know deep down that one day they may be working side by side to help those who cannot help themselves.
not only fireman, to everyone out there willing to risk its life to save someone elses..a stranger, still in training but already on teh field with the fire dept in the water rescue division, we dont fight fires, but we fight against waves currents and a lot of things...and the most regarding thing in the world is when someone a mother a father tells u THANK you ...when a kid says when i grow up i wanna be like u.. thats priceless..a minute of silence 4 those who have given their lives...
Well done to all the firefighters in the world. My family needed you when my mum had a heart attack in country West Australia and while we were waiting for the flying doctor to land you raced up the runway to scare away the kangaroos so no matter how small we will always need you all!!

You Know I will have to agree with you on that. I am a firefighter and have been one for over 11 years now. Yes our job is risky, but we do it because we care about helping save other peoples lifes and keeping them safe. and i am truely sorry about your brother. if you need anyone to talk i would be someeone you can talk to.
This movie also made me cry! I lost my fiance doing the job he loved a year ago...people just don't realise the risk these people take they derserve so much more respect!

Ladder 49 brought shine your light into the picture. Loosen you grip and allow that adaption of the same storyline to a different song... Not everything needs to revolve around a theme song.
i understand what you're saying, but i really dont think that this song goes with the job that we do. i love the song but i just dont really see a connection between the song and our job.
this movie makes you understand just how much a persons life matters. I have friends that want to be firefighters and I also have a cousin that wants to be one too.
