They have actually found lots of evidence that the BOM is true. From ancient writings to ancient structures. There are several books out on the internet you should consider reading about this.

Joseph smith was a prophet of God. I know this because I prayed about it and recieved a witness that he was.
Ive read several books about people who actually knew the man, and they consistently said that he was a man of integrity, a man of service and he was very respected. With the powers of God he was able to even perform miracles on people.
The point of me pointing out the errors of the Bible is to show Joseph was correct when he said that the Bible has many errors and translation mistakes. I can show thousands. That doesn't mean I don't believe the Bible to be Gods words, but Prophets help clarify and correct doctrine and concepts that have been lost in modern Christianity. I personally would not have answered the door if a missionary came knocking. I'm a convert since 1981 and I investigated the church all on my own, and THEN contacted the missionaries to ask how to be baptised! They were stunned! Lol. But my son served a mission and it was very rewarding. He helped many people.

Joseph smith produced the BOM by the gift and power of god. It was produced in about 65 days. So basically, he brought forth an entire history of a people without any contradictions within it in 65 days. can u believe that?
People thought for the longest time that elephants did not exist during the time of the BOM. then they discovered drawings of elephants of people who lived here during the time of the BOM.

I read a story of a professor/theologian at a university who attempted to do what Joseph smith did, and produce a book of 530 pages of a history of a people in only 65 days.
He took a shot at it, and didnt get even half way through it by the time his 65 days were up. He even had a computer to type on and still couldnt do it!! JS produced it without a computer or any technology. He did this beause it is OF GOD>

I am a former anti-mormon. I broke their grip on me 21 years ago. I am tired of seeing a group attack another they know nothing about for no other reason than a difference of beliefs. Those posting here have some interesting comments. In the case of ab330 he questions the existance or secular evidence of Christ. There is, whether it is Josephus or Conelius Tacitus, Suetonious, Tallus and others (Roman Historians) I would suggest "do the research yourself" with the internet these days people believe whatever someone else writes and they don't do the research. Mormonism is very easy to research to find the quotes and teachings.

Problem is Mormons don't really care about doctrine, it just really depends on "how bad do you want to go to heaven and know Christ?" that is the real question. I personally would not have answered the door if a missionary came knocking. I'm a convert since 1981 and I investigated the church all on my own, and THEN contacted the missionaries to ask how to be baptised! They were stunned! Lol. But my son served a mission and it was very rewarding. He helped many people.

I read a story of a professor/theologian at a university who attempted to do what Joseph smith did, and produce a book of 530 pages of a history of a people in only 65 days.
He took a shot at it, and didnt get even half way through it by the time his 65 days were up. He even had a computer to type on and still couldnt do it!! JS produced it without a computer or any technology. He did this beause it is OF GOD>

@jaromsmiss He did it because he had another mans novel as well as the Bible to plagiarize. The BOM is a FRAUD. There were no Israelites in the New World. That's a FACT. The Bible is a REAL HISTORICAL DOCUMENT. The BOM is not. You cannot even pinpoint ONE historical location from the BOM in the real world. I can open up the Bible and find hundreds. The reason no BOM sites have been found is because the events in the BOM never occurred. Sorry, but you've been conned.

by the way, Im not speaking about farms. I honestly dont look there at all. read the works and stories of Hugh nibley. Hugh speaks about lots of things, and has spoken on all kinds of evidences of the church. He as lots of books.

An "Anti-Mormon", that's like someone who doesn't agree with Mormon beliefs and has enough cheek to actually say so right? And when "Anti-Mormons" as thus described are in the act of outlining their disagreements with Mormon beliefs, you describe that act as "persecution", correct? Well, when the Mormon missionaries who knock on my door twice a year come calling next, and I kindly ask them to stop persecuting both myself and my neighbors, will they at last stop coming?

@gurumagoo Not at all gurumagoo, we strongly believe everyone has the right to believe as they choose and welcome diverse opinions. We do take exception to mis-characterizations of our faith, as anyone would.
Anti-Mormons: people who believe they must attack the LDS faith at every opportunity, using any means. An "Anti-Mormon" asked me to read Genesis 3:5 and said Mormons offer what Satan offered. When I asked him to read verse 22, he admitted he already knew his argument lacked merit.

Hundreds of singers and an orchestra complemented the stage in Costa Mesa -- which looked full and nearly to capacity -- for "Beautiful Savior" at 2 and 7 p.m. The singers ranged from older adults to first-graders.
