yes, it's pretty common. Just take it easy and don't over do it, it's not worth going through it all again just because you think you can throw 100 percent 6 months after surgery.
looks good dude...im a catcher and i had it done about 8 months ago...it still hurts sometimes but thats because when it feels really good during rehab i tend to go just a lil overboard but i think im gettin way stronger
First of all the slider is not a good pitch to throw, there is no such thing as a "safe slider". Second, if it IS moving 5 or 6 inches that is great Dave, you sound very ignorant. And third, Andrew have you ever heard of getting through the wall? There is a good chance that is why you had to have Tommy Johns in the first place.
stings every now and then but nothing close to what it was before the surgery. I was throwing around 77-79 mph before the surgery, I hit 86 the other day, so it was def worth it. did you have TJ or are you thinking about having it done?
you really have to stick to your pt!!! Don't rush back into throwing! In the mean time you have to go to the gym while you're recovering....use the bike and do machine leg exercises. I put on a good amount of weight not doing anything until I could fully use my arm again. If your surgery was a success and you follow the program you will be back throwing harder.
also when you get back to throwing, try and figure out why you needed Tommy John... your mechanics might be flawed or maybe your UCL just crapped out. The best way to do that is have someone record your motion, and then compare that to big league pitchers who have close to the same body dimensions, and or pitching style/delivery. Good luck with the recovery, I hope this helped.
Listen kid, don't listen to idiots like this guy. It's not 80mph. I had tommy john surgery 7 years ago in college. If thats reg distance thats close to 90. I can't even watch videos on youtube anymore cause half the ppl comment and say they throw 100mph and the other half say you suck. Where do you play at?
great command but just move faster to the plate as your left leg starts coming down push as hard as you can youll be throwing faster with better control good luck
Any tips and what workouts do you do? I want to throw harder. I throw 52 mph in the winter when my arm was not warmed up. Thank You. Nice pitching
