I think Melvins and Buzz especially just envy Nirvana because Kurt reached fame before them and in half time, and they are old and not famous....I've always thought that when I heard Buzz tlaking...he always seemed to envy Kurt, even in his words...

I understand that Nirvana really looked up to the Melvins with admiration and was totally inspired by them but I think Nirvana turned out so much better. Just saying, only my opinion. :) RIP Kurt!!

@hojima LOL The Melvins are good and all but they are a joke compared to Nirvana. Nirvana could have had a worldly effect had Cobain not died so soon. And all the while Melvins are playing in someones basement playing the role of the misunderstood rebels. They were heavier and in my opinion better musicians but Nirvana was a much better band no question. Melvins... pfft.

@thespecter2 Itt a dumb cunt tries to judge quality by popularity. Nirvana had a big effect despite the fact that cobain died young. They were both good bands. Anyone who likes one but thinks the other is bad is a fucking fool. Nirvana would not exist without the melvins.

@hojima I think Kurt Cobain and the meeting of the 3 (Nirvana) would have happened regardless of the Melvins. I their music may have not been EXACTLY the same as it ended up being but Kurt was almost destined. No one said anything about popularity. I am talking about song writing ability, lyrics, heart, emotion - Nirvana wins by a long shot. Fuck popularity. Even though the effect ended up being popular. @thespecter2 Well seeing as Cobain and Novoselic were introduced to each other through Buzz Osbourne and the only reason that Cobain knew Osbourne was through the fact that Cobain liked the Melvins, I'd say your first argument is slightly invalid.

@thespecter2 Not according to what I have read, Cobain was aware of Krist's presence but I'm not sure the same can be said for Krist's awareness of Cobain. They later met through Buzz giving the Fecal Matter demo tape to Novoselic and Krist wanting to form a band with Cobain based on the tape.

I'm sorry, I fucking love the Melvins. But they just aren't that funny. I can see they're trying to be funny in the sense that they're being random, but they don't even do that very well. I might get a lot of hate comments for this but I just don't think they're very funny and I kind of wish they'd stop trying. Because they don't sound like that's who they really are they sound like they're trying to be funny.

Yeah you are probably right ¨but¨ we didnt knew about it. Nowadays bad music it's all over our heads, ears AND EYES, because music in of these times are about what one sees, not what comes into our innocent cochleas. What a shame. I already know, I know I'm lucky in that regard. My advice is RUN. Run lil' kid before you GO deaf and the only sound that'll stay in your mind to remember would be Tokyo Hotel, The Rasmus and 50 Cent.
