  • i have not and will not purchase anything from harvey norman stores.

what a joke that gerry called kogan a con! have you listened to the B.S most of the shop staff give you.

kogan, you should do an ad like gerry did in the waltons days (for those who remember) "where gonna bet ya".

  • Gerry Harvey has gone on record stating "Giving to charities is a waste of money becasue you ge no return on your investment...". What, like creating a system where homeless people are taken off the street and given jobs?

    But that would be innovative.

  • This has to be one of the all time greatest Australian TV ads ever made.

  • LOL

  • I love this ad! lol

  • I am a student and have no connection to HN or Kogan.

  • BTW, i bought a LG 54 inch HD LCD from HN, the speakers blew within 2 months, couldn't turn the sound up very loud without distortion from the initial purchase, the remote is slow and laggy and have to replug the thing daily to get my PC to recognize it, it doesn't matter who you buy from, they are all out to make a buck, with no customer service, after all they are capitalists. :) I say power to the people Kogan is a good thing, Harvey lives in a world most Australians will never see.

  • We have 3 Kogan tvs and my brother has 2. We buy direct no hassles, quick delivery and excellent products - Why pay more - and no I don't have shares or work for the company

  • I like how Harvey says he wouldn't buy anything not brand name, if your in the financial "upper class" you can afford this luxury but alas the majority of Australians aren't, living in "Democratic" system that plays us off against these people. There is no way grandpa Harvey can compete with Kogan, because he markets at people that believe its true because they saw it on TV therefor it must be the best deal. Harvey is pissed because hes loosing control over the masses. Plain and simple.

  • @troye2407 I remember seeing a business show where Jim from Jim's mowing was interviewed. He still drives his 1970 something volvo station wagon cos "It works fine. I have no reason to (upgrade)". Great interview and one of Australia's best success stories after Dick Smith and Lindsay Fox.

  • But then you know that...you have Shareholders to report too. We are not stupid, feel free to reply. I have nothing to do with Kogan, I'm just amazed at your stance as I respected your standing in the industry....but wow...go figure

  • In the balance of fairness, I also loaned a Kogan 1080P Camcorder from a friend, and it was poor, but then the price was low. I've just got a new mobile that replaces my slow Iphone 3G (thanks for the Os4 update Apple), and it kicks butt. Guess what Jerry, both are made in China, and Samsung components are now found in low cost items all around the world.

Jerry, Harvey Norman don't even price match JB Hi-Fi or The Good Guys most of the time. Seems like your overheads are stopping you competing

  • I purchased a Kogan HD 22" 12V/240V LCD with DVD for camping and I and my friends were blown away with the unit. It's been moved around when camping and I've never had a issue. Trust me I know TV's. as I have worked for B&O in England and Panasonic in Sydney (before the factory was shut down)

I honestly thought Gerry Harvey was smarter than his recent comments show. Given his comments that it's a S...T product and he only buys brand names, how the hell would he know.

    Send a unit to Choice....

  • Nice one Bruva :)

  • this video worked! i went to kogans website

  • Brilliant.

  • I bought a KOGAN TV and have not had a problem.

GO!! KOGAN!! ^This was not a paid advertisment.

  • ahah sooo good!

  • clever ad.. harvey is a dinosaur using a business model that has changed little in 50 years... he is now angry and ranting on about kogan but the reality is he just needs to move with the times....

  • why is there animosity between harvey norman and kogan? each company caters to a completely different market segment. if HN customers were serious about purchasing good value TVs they would shop from JBHIFI after haggling....or perhaps from kogan...

  • You rock, mate!

  • A local Australian company that sells quality Samsung and LG TV panels at economic prices?

Harvy Norman doesn't even stand a chance!!

Buying a Kogan TV only helps the AUSTRALIAN economy!

  • @Antphoneigh, How does this help the Australian Economy? The sets are purchased from dodgy companies overseas, and then manufactured overseas.

I will always buy from HN as I know what I am getting, and I would rather pay for a REAL product than dodgy one.

It's like the Louis Vuitton bags the real ones cost heaps but are perfectly made, the crap ones are crap. ie, you get what you pay for!

  • @bremneshatten yeah Harvey is MAAAAD, lucky Kogan has no shop front glass for Harvey Norman sales staff to shoot up!

  • After reading Mr Harvey Norman's aggressive and unwarranted comments about his competitor in the Sydney Morning Herald today (24 Aug 10) , I will not be buying any from Harvey Norman from here on. His products are too expensive and we do pay for his advertising costs.

  • haha... you should build a radio booth next to your office so you can record your own voiceovers like old gray hair gerry

  • Quality... about time someone shook up the market

  • I LIKE IT !!!!! - I reviewed a few products
