It was very unnecessary to take the whole computer apart. All you had to do was take the keyboard off and then unscrew the monitor.

lame, you never figured out what was the actual problem. It looked more like a loose cable or bad contact. replacing the whole monitor is just a lazy/expensive approach.

Not on all models, like my Dell Lats, there's no antenna in the screens, only the base mobo. I took all the LCD taped panels apart to repair broken glass ones, and you can't buy the parts so I used my small collection that actually grew over a few years, nothing matched completely though!

I had the misfortune of dropping my laptop outside when I slipped on a patch of ice in the winter. The screen didn't break but the same effect happens where the screen flickers and goes weird, though it gets better if I push on the bottom section of the laptop, making me think a connection got messed up in there. So those wires that you put underneath the keyboard... What do they do and where do they connect to on the underside of the laptop?
