I can't imagine what it felt like to be present during a live performance from such an amazing group. Though I was born long after their introduction and many others from the era of unbelievable music, I must say I miss it each and every day because when I compare this to my generation's music...it saddening to see how the genre of music has lapsed in content and artistry.

I thought Squirrel was in the Dramatics. Remember the song "Shake it Well"? The opening line started with "My name is Squirrel, best shaker in the world". Maybe they had a Squirrel in both groups. Admittedly, I am more of a Dramatics fan and follower than for the Chi-Lites, great group that they are.

This was 1972. LJ Reynolds was not in the group when they did "In the rain". He & The late great Lenny Mayes (The guy singing in this clip) didnt join til 1973 when William (Wee Gee) Howard & Elbert Wilkins left

Awesome live video !! Let's all go back in that time machine in the sky back to the 70s when music was special, meaningful, and romantic like frolicking in the rain. Incredible group still vocally hip and funky after almost 40-years when this stormy and magical song was produced.
