I don't see ANYTHING that is is similar between the Cloverfield and this. this is just some random manga comic. No buildings on fire.. no monsters... no running from anything..
For those complaining about the "pointless-no-reason-attack", the object fallen from sky at the end of the movie is suposed to have awakened the monster. Then, as every one would do in its situation, it went to Manhattan lloking for some breakfast.
i dont mean me, im describing the feelings of some of the people ive seen commenting on the movie. i personaly would not have needed anything since i was satisfied after i wastched it but this was a nice topping on the cake for me.
wow you guys are kinda slow arnt you. most people hated the movie because it provided no reason for the monster attack, but the manga prety well clears up several points and lets you see that there is somthing deeper behind the monster itself instead of some retarded pointless attack on a city.
i didnt really like it, it messed the whole mythology up. So u meen to tell me a little Japanese boy is the one who cause the attack on New york? please give me a break they screwed it up big time.
After reading the manga and wikipedia I thnk I can explain it to you: Well this japanese kid (Kishin) was genetically altered by a sect which thought of Clovey as their god. Originally the creature has a bilogical orb named Splinter of Amnion the japanese sect stole it and implanted it on the boy, then they kidnapped the monster, but the Splinter activartes by rage and dispair, whenever the kid gets angray everytgin and everyone get screwed. The Kid controled the onster and the creature for...
a time, the girl (as usual) convinces him to turn good again, the monster gets angry at the kid becasue the creature can't feel the engative emotions, the kid faces the monster, the monster eats the kid so the it could obtain back the Splinter (whiche I think it can't becasue of one good emotion he has, whic s about the girl), a guy shoots a rocket at the creatures eye, if the creature receives to much damge the creature will return to the sea. The creature returns, pukes the kid, the creature..
the Japanese didn't steal this.they had permission.this is supposedly a prequel(according to wikipedia)american and asian moviemakers have been sharing each others stuff since king kong and godzilla.also the ring ,the grudge and the cell phone movies came from japan as well.they were redone for american audiences.its simply retelling a story in that specific cultures perscective.
yeah, but when the Japanese riff on American ideas they usually turn out just as bad as when Americans riff on Japanese ideas. Its like globalism with a penis and vagina making itself pregnant with a retarded bastard child ... our national nightmares are very specific to our national character, the specifics of fear are not universal ... hence "specifications" on our fear.
I saw it, I don't think its the same exact monster though, it seems like a bigger version, way bigger. It's mouth is big enough to swallow half of that boat, Clover had a small mouth...also this Clover can actually walk on top of the Skyscrapers in Tokyo, this monster was woken up by the Tagrunto Drill company...the other baby might have been different from that one...

I thought Cloverfield was made so we Americans could have a monster that the Japanese had nothing to do with......

Yeah the manga is terrible. It makes no sense at all.
The kid controls the parasites and uses them to attack the bullies at his school? Yeah right!

I found it cheesy and turned a good horror monster movie into a cheesy stereotypical animu crapfest.
They could have been done a lot better.

returns to this nest and enters ino a deep sleep, in the nest there are is a massive amount of eggs each containing one clovey
Well this is basically a summary of the thing, hope your doubts got cleared (yea right).
The monster in the movie and in the manga are different ones.
thing2659 3 years ago
i see. Still you would think that the whole thing was payback for the crappy GodZilla movie we made. but thanx for the summary bro.

@thing2659 OMG thank you!!! if you can PM me a more detailed summary that would be fantastic
