  • Right, the DIE can take the pressure but the socket sure can't

  • this could be used as new tech is shrinked from 65nm to 10nm =less heat+better performance xD

  • The actual point of load tolerance you should be concerned with is where the backplate comes through the motherboard, I bet you couldn't even put 60lbs of pressure on all four points at the same time without damaging the motherboard.

  • some motherboards are stronger than you think. especially the gigabyte boards with the 2oz copper layer.

  • @codyragains Thats the point of the backplate, it redistributes the load directly beneath the cpu, it takes the strain off the motherboard mounting points
