  • "Get back in the kitchen"

  • Baron Harkonnen, according to the novels, was the father of Lady Jessica, the Duke's concubine, which makes him Paul and Alia's grandfather. Exactly whom he had as a female partner I cannot remember.

  • @Warrior1984100 Was a Benne Gesseret that was sent to seduce him.

  • What is it that he rips off her, a transmitter?

  • @TheChrissmith92

It's a heart plug. Some sort of device that purifies one's blood due to all the pollution on Geidi Prime or something like that. Pull it out, and the person will die. I don't recall if they were in the book or not (been a while since I read it), but they were shown in several, but not all, of the seemingly dozens of different edits of the David Lynch movie.

  • This would be the worst way to study for a vocabulary test.

  • Did he just say that the Heighliners should be stopped from landing? Why bother? THEY NEVER LAND IN THE BOOK. The ships are over thirty kilometers long, how the fuck would you even defend *one* of them?

  • If you watch closely, you will see that he has a heart plug on his finger before we see the one on that woman. That means he didn't kill her.

  • Baron: I wonder whats for dinner...

*Fremen gets thrown into the room*

    Baron: OAH!

  • you gotta admit this is the best cutscene in the game...

  • the woman here is the same girl who played the Naib in missions 5 and 6 of the Atreides, the girl who hates spice coffee...

  • @silaku That poor Fremen girl. tsk tsk.

  • @silaku That poor Fremen girl. tsk tsk. Such a waste, bleeding her our like that.

  • I love this guy's speech pattern.

And is it just me or do his fingers crack at 0:58?

  • I love how he says: "However" and "They Could defeat us".

  • according to the new series the baron is gay and he's so fat because of a bene gesserit

  • Of course, the heartplug was originally used to drain infected blood, due to living in such a polluted environment. But now harkonnens bathe in blood and the baron drinks blood.

  • ''he'll only kill, youre not his type'' Here they are making reference of the Baron's homosexuality in the books

  • @Gantrithor170

to torture people. they pull it out and the blood splats everywhere

...harkonnen bath in blood after all.....

  • @UberGadriel Actually, the heartplug is a form of mercy because the victim will die once the pin is pulled. If the Harkonnen wants to torture someone, it will always be slow and very painful. Talk about pulling the plug...

  • @bursegsardaukar Really? You've experienced exsanguination? Some people who have survived major blood loss will tell you it is very frightening and painful...

  • @Anthrolithos What are you talking about?

  • @bursegsardaukar I'm talking about bleeding out until you're near death/dead. That's what exsanguination is.

  • Now whats that metal thing she has on her chest and that he takes out?

  • @Argie87

    thats the heartplug

  • Baron! Dinner! hehe love that line.

  • absolutely brilliant acting. Why we don't see more of this guy? At least here I have to say he's at least on the same level as John Rhys Davies (atreides mentat). And even higher concerning the fact that playing Harkonnen mentat is more difficult role than Atreides... This guy should make it to the holywood... sadly he's probably too old just now...

  • one question ive played dune 2000 before... but havent noticed who is baron

  • wow is that a heartplug on kari?

  • I must say she sounds sexy

  • @seriousjarppa ooooh yeah! she's such a treat!I'd fuck her.. Harkonnen style

  • Hayt is awesome, nuff' said

  • The way Hayt says "Baron, dinner!" is as if the Baron is his personnal pet lion or something instead of his lord...

  • aaaw how i'd love to see Kari die a violent death!

  • Yep! Agree with ya mate! Emperor sucks!

  • I always thought the acting in Dune 2000 was far better than Emperor: Battle For Dune. EA can learn something from Westwood instead of hiring big name actors to say cheesy lines. Who ever played Hayt was flawless.

  • Agreed. Anyone know who this actor is or anything else he's been in?

  • His name is Robert Carin and according to imbd he did a episode on "Beverly Hills Bordello" and this game. He hasn't done anything else.

  • Wow A waste of great talent.

  • It's true that the actors are good. Yet, I can't get over how much they rape the real Dune by basing their characters on the movie. They portray the baron as a retarded monster. He was an evil genius and really the monster was the mentat torturer. The baron was always disgusted at the torturer de Vries but he considered him useful.

  • Harkonnen FTW

  • I like Hayt. He's insane and he did look like he enjoyed himself in this scene. :3

  • I agree, the guy played the mentat amazingly well. You can see the reflection of the very essence of House Harkonnen in Hayt. This was very well done!

  • the Harkonnen Baron always seems gay, so he's probably gay in this game too.

  • We see so little of him, but I'd imagine he's gay. He was in the novels, so why not? I made up all that story stuff in the descriptions so as far as I'm concerned, he's just as pedophilia and homoerotic minded here as he is in the novels and movies. Heck, let's make him flaming. That'd be hilarious.

  • Actually, in the books they openly admit he's gay. There's a scene in one of them (Can't remember if it's the original or House Corrin) where Feyd-Ruatha attempts to assassinate him by installing a poisoned needle in the thigh of one of Baron's many playthings.

  • Its in the mini-series too and the baron isn't so much pissed, but disapointed that he didn't come up with anything more original. But I suppose its logical that he's gay, seeing as it was because of his rape of a Benie Geseret sister that he got the desise that made him so fat and ugly and pussy

  • @smithdanger

Baron Rekaan in Emperor seemed a little more heterosexual, don't ask me why.

  • not gay but pedophile bisexual, he rapes women and loves to be with naked young men

  • BARONNNNN DINNER

  • God, do I love this quote. Pretty much made the guy awesome in my eyes. If only the missions did not become annoyingly hard to progress through. :/

  • I suspect he's homosexual. Its hard for me to explain. It's just something about his voice.

  • The Harkonnens are basically hedonists, so he could very well be any number of (fill in blank)-sexual. It wouldn't surprise me if he was a necrophiliac.

  • Well, Hayt says he's a corpse. Why not?

  • In the books Baron Vladimir Harkonnen is gay.
