  • I think you should practice more before you put lesson :] as a cover it was pretty good, but you had some problems with rythm :]

  • thanks dan ur lesson works!

  • a bit sloppy

  • yea , you have to give to the British when it comes to R&R they got it goin .. great lesson thanks

  • Merci, le son est bon!

  • How many times before he got the solo the first time? That fucking amazing!

  • The best STH solo lesson. I have the same guitar

  • hey man thats a good lesson....btw could u do a lesson on judas priests beyond the realms of deaths solo......plz man...there is no guitar lesson on youtube........

  • could you give me exactly what tuning the guitar and in what mod and od/ds it is so I can play exactly with same sound... od/ds is overdrive, distortion ect.... thanks

  • @nicobreton10 hi, the guitar is standard tuning, running through a boss multi effects pedal and a fender blues junior amp

  • Its really frustrating to play it with a backing track and be off? How do you do to play it right on the beat?

  • @vivaledzepp My only advice is to slow it right down until the phrases start to work

  • @danbohane Did Work!!! THANK YOU!!!

  • We all just want to say here that the British rules in music - and Dan Bohane is one among their greats !!! I am kissing Dan's a -- here and I am !! I can't thank him enough for all the guitar lessons - 25 years longing to play Stairway To Heaven Solo, finally ended because of Dan Bohane's generosity !!!!!!

  • @robertbanadera thanks thats a very lovely thing to say. enjoy the solo.

  • You're great!!! I'm wondering if you can make it a bit more slower because in some part I spent hours to follow it but not doing it right. It's frustrating. I'm a beginner and I could really use your help. Thanks man. You're really cool.

  • @fpatawaran hi I'm sorry I cant slow it , vid took about 10 hours to make as it is, maybe try a simpler fingerpicking track and come back to this one , or check out some other you tube vids.

  • @danbohane Thanks for the advice.

  • Excellent lesson! You are a beautiful person man. Rock on!

  • awesome man but i was hopping for an accoustic version of this solo

  • the best lesson of this solo. the idea of dividing up the solo is great, it helps starters like me to play it smoothly. this has helped me a lot. THANKS =)

(sorry for my english, i am spanish =P)

  • This is definately the best stairway solo lesson on youtube

  • Man I can tellyou, you're a grat teacher, absolutely the best for this song in u-tube! You made a technical - and most famous - guitar solo sound if not easy surely understandable!

  • thank you so much, very good lesson, helped me so much :-)

  • What a star !!

  • very good lesson

  • he makes it look oh so easy.

    :P

  • danbohane - is simply a great teacher !! I've long dreamed of being able to play this solo, and now I can do it like Jimmy Page himself - BIG thanks to DanBohane !!! He's generous to the extreme- just look through all the Guitar Lessons he's been giving away gratis et amore... WHAT AN AWESOME GUY !!!!

  • @robertbanadera hi, thanks, I'm really glad this has helped you. Enjoy playing the solo, thanks for the possitive feedback. dan

  • i cant understand it

  • you're playing good... but can you make it just a little bit slower? =)

  • holy sit ur good1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • As a guitar teacher I watch and use alot of these lessons. If your going to post a lessons for the novice, break it down and play the parts up to speed and then slowly as you have done here. You mapped out the solo in sections.THIS IS EXCELLENT TEACHING.Great job.I will advise all my students follow your postings.

  • Thanks so much

    dan

  • I counted the solo as ten bars. Is that right?

  • I'm not sure how many bars it is. I have split it into small sections which are easy to explain rather than into bars.

  • Very good lesson, thanks for making this

  • I had a lot of trouble with section 8, but I am now pretty close to regular speed. It helped me to practice the 12th fret pentatonic scale by hammering and pulling off the notes up and down the scale and definitely hammering the bend note on B string, fret 15 and stressing that note. I only pick the B-13fret and G-14 fret when I play it. Seems to sound better that way, but I agree it's a tough lick.

  • I hope this video helps. Keep listening to the original as well

  • best lesson ever

  • DanBohane - took something that is really very hard to do, Stairway to Heaven Solo, explained it clearly into 13 parts the way only a MASTER can, and now I can play the solo where before I just couldn't! GOD BLESS YOU, danbohane! You're a blessing to many of us avid guitarists !

  • great -its hard solo to play I think. But slowing it all down and practicing it slowly should help you nail it.

    dan

  • You're an awesome guy- danbohane!! You are very generous and talented and simply great! This world needs more guys like you! Thanks!

  • wow- thats a nice comment. You have spurred me to do more lessons. Thanks

  • any tips on the eight section ?

  • can someone tell how much years of experience do I need to play this solo cause its my first year and I find it a bit hard.

  • i would say 3 years at least. you need accuracy ,speed and great hammer ons and pull offs. Learn all your blues scales essential for this style

  • section 8 is a b*tch... you don't get it to sound like page does either..

  • man thank you this is great ive been stuck at the solo for like ages thanks man you rock :D

  • What are the strings you recomend me for eletric guitar? Which ones are you using?

  • I'm using very thick strings but jimmy page would have used very light strings so its entirely up to you.

  • Great lesson, helpt me a lot Thanx Dude :D

  • oh sorry, forget about the comment I just posted I got confused between one section and another

  • I'm pretty sure the 1st section out of the 13 of them ends on the 8th fret on the A string which is F

  • yeah it is because F is played while another guitar plays a F major suspended chord

  • I like the sections. I have trouble with the timing on sections 3 an 4 and the pulloff/bends in section 8. Any music notation available for the timing on 3 and 4 and between sections?

  • hi nman48 I dont know of any tab with timing on. what I will do is slow down the full solo and post that up tomorrow. I think that might help. Please subscribe for more lessons tracks rockschool and compositions. cheers dan

  • Thanks, man!

  • hope you enjoyed.I putting up many more free lessons. Please subscribe

  • cheers anything you want to know please ask

  • nice one !! I know this one :) but you played great .
