  • @treeleavespinkface She does look quite stuning in this film, I'll give you that,.. however, I STILL say that she sure looked awfuly shitty in The Shining!! .. YYYYYYYYEEEEEEEiiiiiiiiccchhhhh!!!!!

  • @voluminoushead888 She had a cold while she was making the film, an felt really abused by Stanley Kubrik he exhausted her trying to make her become scared, she played Wendy nicely though! Good emotional connection!

  • I happen to think that Shelley Duvall is not only a BRILLIANT actress, she is also very beautiful, stately looking and has lovely skin, hair, and natural beauty. I am fascinated with this portrayal of an awkward, well meaning person trying to make her way through life. Millie was abandoned at age 11 and has had to rely on magazines to learn how to live. Her loneliness goes really deep and I think she created a fabulous character. Under rated actress FOR SURE.

  • u know the pinky chick plays the mother in tuck everlasting:D

  • @iyuppie and carrie in the movie carrie :)

  • ...clean is sexy...hmm, ......then why millie has no sex at all?

  • Does anyone ever notice that Millie always gets part of dress caught in the car door??

  • yeah,.i do,.lol, maybe they did all the cr scenes at the same time,or something.lol

  • @Theshark15z It's just another sign of how foolish she appears to others, and her complete unawareness of of it.

  • @Theshark15z Yes, that is to show that she is a loser. I spotted it right away. I am female, and disabled, live in France now, and have to get in and out of rather awkward little French cars and the first thing I look for is my attire. Wish I was as on top of things with the rest of my life! xo from the USA via Europe

  • I would just like to know what did Millie do to make everyone hate her. Her "grand entrance." To me, Millie seems like a nice person, although pretentious. lol She seems hurt by the way she's treated, but she just can't do anything about it.

  • Roger Ebert's Great Movie Review (5/12)

    *May contain spoilers*

The early passages of the film focus on Millie's relentlessly cheerful attempts to ingratiate herself with her neighbors and co-workers, who ignore her and then ridicule her among themselves.

  • She dreams of dates with Tom, who presides over the grill at poolside dinners, and with the doctors in the hospital across the street from the senior center, but we cringe when she joins the doctors in their commissary for lunch and sits between two of them, who talk right through her.

  • In a movie filled with mirrors, reflections and multiple images, Millie always seems to be primping, making minute adjustments to her clothes and hair, perfecting her makeup, admiring herself in reflection while no one else seems to quite see her.

  • Anyone notice that the song heard at 03:35 is also used in Altman's "Come Back To The Five And Dime...."?
