my first look at this game, Animation looks awesome, and i've read that it has similiar technic like FF except the magic system of course! but i like that you could choose 3 quest, in case u get bored with one u can change! awesome =)
@Zaku41k Thank you. Have I downloaded the wrong patch?
The zip I downloaded from aeon genesis contained rudras.ips and a 3 .txt files
I called the game rudras.smc and made sure they are in the same folder. But it didn't work. What is this .cht file? How many files are needed to get it working in English? I use zsnes btw.
It's a dump of the original Japanese ROM, fan translated. You just need to download the original Japanese ROM and patch it with an IPS patcher like LunarIPS or IPSWin. You can find the patch easily by using Google. I think Aeon Genesis translated it, but I'm not sure.
It's an awesome game but the magic system is a bit hard. A few bosses are very difficult if you dont know exactly what you're doing. I'm gonna go dl this rom again now!
Amazing. I don't think I have ever seen any other (turn based) SNES RPG with such fluid movement and animation during the fight scenes. These battles look almost like PSX battles.
I wish they would make a version of this for GBA or PSP or DS or something. I got the ROM a few years ago and I liked it but my computer crashed before I could play very far in.
I was going to try getting into this one recently but the complex magic system made me stray away from it, it does look like an interesting game however. Maybe I will get a game started on this once I finish Treasure Hunter G.
The magic system in this game is a bit like Rebus: you create spells yourself by mixing power words (which are kanjis).
Example with the english translation:
'IG' = root for fire spells
'-NA' = multitargeting suffix
'-MEL' = power increase suffix
> IG = Fire spell
> IGNA = Multi fire spell
> IGMEL = Stronger fire spell
You can mix any number of prefix/suffix, there are tons of them. Also, if you see an ennemy using a mantra, just write it in your mantra list and you can use it.

@OwnedOver9000
Make sure all the file names are the same. Rudras.smc, Rudras.cht, Rudras.ips etc etc.

@OwnedOver9000
Well Znes should auto patch the ips file. That's weird, it should work just fine.
Btw, the AG file is called rudra.ips so if you named the smc rudra's' it would not work. Maybe that's it.

@Zaku41k Awesome! I re-downloaded everything and placed the emulator in the same folder as the rom and ips file and it's working now! Thanks!

Nice video man, I love this game, one of my favorite RPG's mainly because of the unique magic system.

This was when us dumb Americans were too stupid for RPGs, so we were stuck with stupid MK clones. Great game nonetheless.

It did, alot of people don't realize that it'll eventually come up after one click. I know that little window of delay is killer
