Quite some tree. Because it's standing so close to a ruin of an ancient temple, one would think that there's possibly a well, an underground water supply. As far as I know, there are a lot of water sources under the surface of the desert. Forgive me when I'm totally wrong but again, it's a possibility. Anyway, it's a very interesting tree.
@MultiRec I think you might be right there...which accounts for the ancient ruins being ...a deep underground water supply...in the desert! Maybe the tree was used as a sign post or marker for travellers?
..Can imagine being in another time ...a camel train...an entourage glimpsing this oasis ,,from behind a veil...through a Sultans EyE...
