  • @AlexWooton just to point out it was Rob Paulsen who did the voice for Otto, not Jess Harnell

  • me and my friend sang this for the school talent show. my friend was lending us her ipod for music. the song got deleted by her sister. we sang it word for word, and had a lot of fun. we even did a hawaii dance at honolulu. my old teacher was clapping. the clapping for us started with my teacher's daughter. I felt really awesome, because we were doing a an american idol skit, and i also played a judge called Dr. Scratchansniff.

  • He makes me swoon

  • Lol really reminds me of adventures in odyssey! WOOTTOONNN!

  • this made my day ... jess harnell: thank you.

  • i LOVE wakko's voice!!!

  • why do they also CLAP?

  • @comickrew They're clapping to keep the rythm for him. :)

  • @CelesteK but it overwhelms the audio so you can't hear him as well

  • @comickrew He's the one that starts it.

  • @Arenlor i know but when he makes them do the clapping he doesn't realized the person recording is doing it from a calculator and the audio is filled with loud clapping making it harder to hear his awesome self.

  • i sang this at performing arts last year! so weird, yet so cool.

  • Haha, great songs, great voice actors, and great cartoon. Animaniacs will definitely be missed. And Rob Paulsen did Dr. Otto Scratchansniff.

  • Otto was Rob Paulsen.

  • GAAAH STOP FLIPPING CLAPPING OR I WILL DROP AND ANVIL ON YOU >:(

i kid i kid i wouldnt do that (maybe) xP

  • i'm sorry he look like captain hook but he is a good man!

  • why jess says "Saint Paul"???

  • You should check out Jess's band Rock Sugar... right here on youtube!!! you won't be disappointed!!!

  • Why do I have the sudden urge to become a voice actor? *shrug*

  • why does everyone clap during the songs?

    that kills it!

  • @InvaderWakko

If you noticed, Jess was the one that started it

  • You know besides Wakko I heard he also played Rudy's dad Joe on ChalkZone.

  • @aeblock12: And he and Kel (All That; Kenan & Kel) were also on the PBS' Clifford show. Kel as T-Bone on the regular show & Jess as the wiener dog on the "Puppy Days" prequel.

  • And who would have thought that this man would be all over youtube with a song that kicks major ass! You Rock Jesse

  • The thing I like best about Wakko is his accent. x3

  • It sounds like he got the capitol of Oregon wrong. It doesn't seem like he said Salem.

  • @Pizzachu1

Here in sweden we have a saying ^^ offer a man a basket of fresh apples with ONE bad apple in it, and it will be the center of the conversation.

  • yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • Jess Harnell is love!

  • YYAAAYYYY!!!!!!!!

  • only the first verse is high the others sound the same =]

  • Lol Saint Paauuuuuuuuuuuuuuuul.

I sing it like that too.

  • how does he make wakkos voice like that awsome

  • That's part of voice-acting; plus, Jess Harnel (the guy who's singing) WAS Wakko.

  • i know its just listen too his voice and then listen how he changes his voice with wakko hes incredible

  • Jess Harnell also sings in a Def Leppard-ish band called Loud And Clear which has some great tunes!

  • Yes, he voiced Wakko, but Wakko's voice was based on ex-Beatle Ringo Starr, just as The Brain's voice was based on Orson Welles, Runt's voice was based on "Rain Man," etc. etc. etc.

So, Jess was basically doing an impersonation of Ringo Starr when he voiced Wakko.

  • Interesting observation... never thought of that.

  • actually, wakko was going to sound like john lennon, but when jess harnell saw how small wakko was, he made his voice slightly higher. but, in the end, he was based on ringo starr and john lennon. i love his voice!

  • Used to know the entire song!!! Too bad the clapping is so loud!!!

  • gosh.. doesn't sound much like Wakko for most parts.. maybe i just can't pick up the accent that well unless he was just saying something in between the singing

  • i think the problem is that he went out of key alot, he's even admitted that he's a little tone deaf so going out of tune with out instruments is probably what makes it not sound like him

  • mabye his voice isnt as deep because they use computers to deepen it.

  • I don't see the point in deepening his voice artifficially after having recorded. I think that in this ocassion he just got a bad tune from the beggining.

  • Actually, this is the voice he normally uses for Wakko. They deepened his voice early in the series, and then stopped some time after.

  • he also does the voice of Crash Bandicoot in Crash Tag Team Racing and in Crash of the Titans =)

  • Awesome! I've always loved Crash, its cool knowing he's the new voice!

  • woh, i didn't know that, cool

  • He also does Wooton Basset in Adventures in Odyssey,

  • WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! WAKKO! HE ROX!

  • JESS HARNELL IS THE BEST!! i love him!

  • Wow, he remembers it all

I know it's been a while, but he sounds a bit like roger rabbit at the higher notes.

  • It almost seems that he's looking down on a script or something. No offence.

  • Yes, he does

  • dang...it's amazing that they can still remember the songs

  • not really when you think how many times they've had to have been asked to sing them by this point.

  • well it still amazes me ^^

  • Tis a bit higher then the Wakko I remember, but awesome job on his part! ;) ^^

I wish they would bring Animaniacs back!!

  • same here, i miss them -.-

  • I loved Verse 2...says so much for me all together.

  • You should hear this dude sing (in his normal voice)!! He sounds like a dead ringer for the guy from Enuff Z'Nuff. I love Jess to death and always have!!

  • where was this!!

  • comic con

  • wakkos was always my favorite i watch animaniacs everyday like how we eat everyday but i wacth it on dvd ;) so i cant miss it

  • I LOVE JESS HARNELL!!! Did you know he's from Teaneck, NJ? Man, I hope there's a comic con in NJ sometime so I can meet him face to face!!

  • Awesome!!!! Wakko rules!

  • Why Liverpudlian? Because it's funny, that's all. Kinda like "why does Grim from Billy & Mandy have a Jamaican accent"? Just because. I love the accent, and try to do it Wakko style all the time. Would probably get my butt kicked if I ever went to the UK though.

  • I've always thought Wakko sounded like Ringo Starr.

  • ME TOO! Which is weird because when he first created the voice he was going for a tiny John Lennon.

  • Yeah, the voice was actually modelled on Ringo's. Thing is, he raised the pitch of Wakko's voice later in the series when he saw the character was short!

  • The voice is from John Lennon.

  • no the voice is modeled after ringo's.

  • well duh! Jess Harnell based the voice on Ringo Starr.

or are you just saying that cause you just found out?.

    -Ash

  • Jess actually based Wakko's voice on John Lennon. Look it up.

  • actually, he based it on Ringo Starr then when he looked at a picture of Wakko, Wakko was smaller then Jess thought so he changed it to a higher pitch and it ended up sounding like John Lennon!.

  • oh ok, thanks for the info!

  • yeah, it totally sounds like ringo; i always thought that.

  • yeah because it was modeled after ringo. no offense. and wakko is meant to sound scouse.

  • scouse is actually the way the beatles talk cuz scouse is from the liverpool area

  • another fact is that Jess Harnell's dad Joe Harnell knew john lennon!

  • That... is AWESOME

  • Gawrsh! That song (Wakko's America) was hillarious! Jess Harnell did a voice of Wakko. He sounded like John Lennon, but he made his voice, smaller. My favorite loverboy is Wakko Warner.

  • except it's higher-pitched, of course

  • I was actually just going to ask this, it's good that I'm not the only one that caught it, Why Does Wacko Sound Like John Lennon? It is definitely a Liverpudlian accent, that is without a doubt, but I'm sure it's John Lennon. Whenever I think about the old interviews I've watched of him after the Beatles split up it just seems to confirm it more and more. It's just so much like Lennon.

  • That's the kind of voice Jess Harnell was going for.

  • Go Jess!!

  • hahaha this was awesome ^_^

  • yay jess harnell i love wakko and wooton

  • WOOTON RULES!!!!!!!

  • totally awsome.

The Animaniacs have been gone for so long.. I'm surprised that he came there. Why did he go there anyhow?

  • This was at San Diego Internations Comic-Con. I was there totaly kickass. they did a few "are you pondering what im pondering?" jokes too

  • wakko!

  • BRAVO!!! that Rocked!

  • this is classic...lmao...damn he rox..i'd imagine he has his original script to read off of ...lol

  • Awesome!

  • The fact that he can remember all that makes him the awesome.

  • Wakko has the best fake welsh accent EVER! I used to know this song by heart, but then i found my own way to remember all the capitals. All I can remember now is the beginning and the end.

  • It's scouse actually; Jess was meant to have based it on one of the Beatles. Not sure which one though.

  • That's what I was thinking of! I couldn't remember what it was called. I knew it was in Conker's Bad Fur Day. Thanks. I think it was probably John or Ringo like that guy said. Welsh and Liverpudlian accents sound very similar if you listen.

  • Oh no they don't - they couldn't sound more different and if you mix them up and call a Welshman Liverpudlian (or vice versa) you best run for the hills!!!

  • *runs for the hills* :P

  • Ringo Starr.

  • Wakko's sounds NOTHING LIKE Welsh!!

He's got a Scouse (aka. Liverpudlian) acent if ever you heard one. Philistine!!

  • wakko sounds half australian half old southside scouse.

  • I don't see the Australian lilt, but I'd have to agree with you about the scouse bit. :)

  • sweet!

  • Jess is the man

  • When is this held and where?!

  • Jess Will be at the 2008 one!, you can look it up on the web for the info!

  • I WOULD WANT TO GO! man!

  • omg, I was there! we recorded that video too, I just havent uploaded it coz its on my dads laptop... but hey, another comic con fan!! yaay!

  • where was this one at?? my step brother was at comic con last year but i dont know if theres a bunch of them all over the states or what... anyways the one he went to was either in california or las vegas.... i dont remember wich...

  • One correction...Rob Paulsen was Otto Scratch'n'Sniff, Pinky, and Yakko.

  • This brings back so many memories...

  • ha ha nice. though I don't think he was all the way in character untill the end, because he sounded off a bit. I guess his voice had to be warmed up.

  • By the way, who exactly is on the panel?

  • Yakko, Wakko, Dot (Rob, Jess, & Tress) and a few others.

  • According to Comic-Con Intl.'s site (www.comic-con.org), the panelists were: Maurice La Marche, Rob Paulsen, Jess Harnell, Andrea Romano (voice director/casting director), Earl Kress (writer), Peter Hastings (writer), and Grodon Bressack (also a writer).

  • I was there and the whole panel was a fun rump!

  • X3 yaaay! Thanks for posting this! I can't get my Animaniacs DVDs till next week so Im like.. dying for A! stuff x.x

  • Wow, Jess rocks

  • Jess Harnell Rob Paulsen and Tress Macneile ftw I prolly spelled the last name wrong.

  • Excepting the extra "L" in MacNeille, you spelled them right.

  • Jess Harnell rocks. :D

  • I wanna take Wakko home!!
