We had a 1936 A when I was a pup, and whenever I see one I think it would be neat to have it back.. Until I remember starting it, the pet cocks, and the fuel change over. and the busted knuckles and sore wrist/arm if she kicked back. But then again I enjoy the memories and seeing others that keep these green mules alive! Thank-you
We mounted one backwards on our '38A one time before noticing. We got an Alis stuck and I drove the A to pull it out. I wondered how the tires would compare.
The backwards tire pulled harder in the mud and twisted the tractor... that is, until the tire spun once and the tread blocks became loaded with mud that wouldn't clear. I had to brake that tire to get any traction at all.
I've wondered if reverse tires might help in a tractor pull since there is no mud to clog the treads.
i love it i have a 37 b. no you have a big backup job

It was not on purpose (the tires backwards) just my inept attempt at getting them on righht - go figure!

Ive got the same thing on a 45 JD Combine,
I think they did that to get extra traction in soft soil,

Fine Job on the Model A! How many hours do you have in the restoration?
Take Care,

Nice job. Very clean, and I like the wheels being backwards. It adds a certain touch.

I do belive that your tires are mouted backwards. You may want to turn them around, or maybe you do a lot of work in reverse?

Yes, as careful as I was, I still got them backwards. I just tell people I'm rotating them better wear/mileage :)
