The only successful member of the band is Lyford: at least they got rid of him BEFORE they killed their sound. He really has nothing to mourn. I wish I had known this would happen before I ever put all my hopes and aspirations into a band that I thought was the best and would continue producing fun, ORIGINAL songs for years. Anyone can produce this. They only address us "true fans" cause they know they fucked their unique sound and want to be able to blame others for disliking them. Fuckers.

Honestly, I'm more disappointed that they felt they needed to drop the technicality and breakdowns from their music. I won't criticise them if they feel they've progressed but it doesn't make sense to me. This album is really bland. They really were quite unique just a few years ago.

@gsoto420 It's not influential at all. It's boring and unnecessarily repetitive which means it lacks musical ambition, unlike their three previous albums. I'm not sure there was another band in the world that could compare with them in 2007 (ADTR never played with that same level of technicality). I won't be stuck listening to the same albums, there are always new bands and while they might differ in style, at least they won't have (as of yet) succumbed to mediocrity like FYS.

@gsoto420 No, I never said either of those things. You ignored the points I made. I don't really care about the synthesizer (nor have I ever done). The guitar and drums on this album is what's wrong. They're horribly simple, a step away from sounding something like All Time Low. The vocals have no aggression. There's no cool odd meters/time signatures (go listen to Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Hell). Rise or Die Trying differentiated this band more than this new album ever will.

@gsoto420 they were never the same as all the others, they had two technical rhythm guitarists who shared lyrics and had heart in their lyrics. their music used to mean something and now its JUST like everyone else. they had a flavor all their own and to get ride of josh is just bullshit, he added a screaming element to the band. they were perfect before this record. PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!! 8========D~~~~~~~~

The song prepare to be digitally manipulated for example would sound like a different genre without the presence of his synth and the screaming he did that was layered (flawlessly I might add) on alan and dans singing. and he is a musician, he has his own band now where he is writing more music and playing again
