  • If Social Security is a Ponzi Scheme, Who is making off with all the money? I have never heard of a Ponzi scheme that takes money from someone and gives it back to them later. Who is this person that in this supposed Ponzi Scheme that is profiting?

  • @1Archie11 Who made all the moneyThe money was made by the first generation of recipients who collected far beyond what they put in, if any. The big losers are the subsequent generations who get less and less, but pay more and more. It is a Ponzi scheme because it is mathematically unsustainable. Of course, the long term winners are the useless bureaucrats who push paper at the Social Security Administration.

  • @fzqlcs I question you math. SS is set up as a classic insurance Scheme. Insurance scheme's and Ponzi scheme's are very different and properly managed an insurance scheme is sustainable although it is a bit of a gamble. Some pay in and never need the Insurance, Some benefit only a little from the insurance, and some get more from the insurance than they ever paid for it. Generally speaking though the more you pay in the more you get back.

  • Yet idiots still vote for the same idiots that advocate it

  • I like how they say "It's not a ponzi scheme because everyone pays"

uh... that doesn't disqualify ponzi scheme lol

  • First of all Social Security was never meant to supply people with money to live on it was a SUPPLEMENT only! Secondly, the government has already looted it. That same government is now being asked to continue controlling YOUR money? This actually makes sense to some of you? Really? Those who have already paid during their working lifetime should continue to receive it but we need to wean ourselves from it after that.

  • paul ryan made a lot of sense right there.

  • MONEY MONEY MONEY. Maybe these John Stossel Libertarians forget about how fucked up this oil war is. That costs us trillions too. Just go ahead and simplify it to a one card trick you bastard John.

  • @HoGraz LOL WHAAAAT?

    TRILLIONS

no, Billions maybe, but trillion? bud are you fucking retarded. stop paying attention to crazy people.

Plus, libertarians dont like wars. Learn your facts.

  • @SquashDog01 No sir you are fucken stupid. We got into the war because of the free markets lack of government research. Yes trillions the war cost us. It's near 1.5.

  • @HoGraz Free markets? as in free trade? As in lack of government oversite? As in lack of trade barriers such as tarifs? how does that make sense? How does unfettered, unregulated markets have anything to do with war? go back to the leftest rock you crawled out from under. and Trillions requires more than 1. 1.5 doesn't mean trillions. its 1.5 TRILLION. Learn 2 English.

  • @SquashDog01 God I hate people like you. "Go out from your leftist rock you crawled out of." You right-wingers are so disgusting. The right created this problem in the first place, but their ego is so big they manage to believe it's the left's fault. Politics always vear towards the interests of the aristocracy. "Lear 2 English." Whatever man. I was going to argue with you, but I can tell you're completely lost in your own Tea-Party world. You don't even make any sense with your composition.

  • @HoGraz Such arrogance! That can only come from nut job leftists like you. I am NOT a rightist. I am insulted that you would even suggest that i am. But only in your sad little black and white world are there two philosophies. What a sad and uninspired life you must lead. And created the problem, my god, does your arrogance know no bounds? This problem started in 1979 with the housing and redevelopment act. My god man, even Wikipedia got it correct. Learn your history. God i hate leftists.

  • @SquashDog01 You didn't say anything of intellegence. Talk about arrogance. Read the dribble you wrote. You are a moron to try to pin-point me and attack my person to such an extent like you do. I assume you must be another elitist corporate libertarian. Think about who that must serve best. See you later El-Dip-Shito.

  • Stop taking my money US gov't!!! I can manage my money just fine and those who can't can either learn some personal responsibility or die poor.

  • Madoff should be hired as a consultant for the social security "trust funds" Could he do any worse?

  • @Dabba23, I know but Rep Ryan is the only politician with enough guts to take action on entitlement spending.

  • Madoff got throw in jail because the FED doesn't like competition.

  • i love the end few seconds of the video..

  • Paul Ryan is the only guy that makes sense in DC!

  • @ballajd Yet he voted for the bailout. He makes it seem like he's a true conservative, but one must look at his voting record before deciding that.

  • I just wont have children. Because what is the solution??? It is unfortunate that even the majority of the public will not vote the latter, but we should keep trying.

  • Can anyone find a link to the graph video?

  • After the hockey stick incident I didn't like graphs. But these were spot on.

Dont turn America into Europe. With out a productive America to protect Europe and create 90% of the worlds innovation we will all suffer.

  • I'm moving to Australia

  • @BigPurple121 I'm with you. It's down under either way.

  • Instead of throwing Madoff in jail, they should have made him head of the treasury dept or social security.

  • @iFreedom4ever lol, that's what Peter Schiff said

  • @iFreedom4ever - Why? They already have a "Madoff" sitting there.....lol

  • @iFreedom4ever Better still, why don't we should invest our social security in the same bets that Golman Sachs is making.

  • If Maddoff had only run for Senate he would be an American hero but he just doesn't think big enough.

  • Every individual's share of the total debt right now is $500,000.00, this moment... yes, all 308 million of US.

  • @mallardhead

Please tell me; how did you count and what are your sources?

  • @enevighet17

on line I looked up SS uncommitted debt... added it to Medicare(all) uncommitted debt... and a few others... 2 wars... Obamacare... TARP... Stimulus... Our committed debt of $15 T... and divided it by 308+million souls... In some calculations it was less than $500K/soul. Depends on what you count as debt. I count it all as the People have to pay whatever govt commits... and has committed a lot publicly and more secretly. Then add state debts and the People are enslaved by debt.

  • @mallardhead Dont forget the interest.....

  • A trillion dollar scam?

Um...Actually, it's more like $100 trillion if you include unfunded liabilities.
