i live in The Netherlands and here we don't use the "walk in a straight line" thing. The police just use the breathalisers. Saves a lot of time and is way more accurate.

READ THE FOURTH AMENDMENT....no search or stopping without probable cause and you cannot search without a warrant...therefore you have no idea who is drunk so there is no probable cause! Just stop the people who crash into somebody or are doing something wrong but NOT those who are doing nothing wrong! Nazis!!!! He walks the line perfectly, touches his nose perfectly, says the ABC's perfectly. Cops have him blow into a breathalyzer and get triple zeros. "How can you blow a trip zero?!!?" Apparently they are unaware that court precedence for "DUI Checkpoints" says that it violates the 4th amendment but the supposed benefit is enough to allow them to continue. This means that they are only allowed to check for DUI. Asking for ID requires reasonable suspicion that a crime was committed because normally this would require you being pulled over. Sure, they can make anything into "reasonable suspicion", but the cops asking anyone for their license is bullshit and illegal.

I am against drinking and driving period, but these checkpoints seem to be about all violations and should be call it accordingly. There is no difference between this & a Homeland Security Checkpoint just being done by the police instead of DHS. Can someone tell me the difference between the 2? Dont get me wrong I dont have a problem with the police doing this just dont like being mislead. They should call it a violations checkpoint not a DWI checkpoint. Peace...

I have no problem with checkpoints for drunk drivers... But they dont just check for drunks... They harass people for everything... I was pulled over at a check point one time and the cop checked my lights and horn etc... Finally he had nothing on me and was gonna let me go and said Oh your not wearing your seat belt your getting a ticket... I had taken it off during his check but he didnt want to hear it... Cops are evil pigs... No wonder people shoot them...
