It does sound a bit different. I've noticed this with other Rock Band songs as well. It seems like they really make the instruments being played by the players more prominent, so maybe they toned down the synth and enhanced the guitar and bass.

Part of me wants to agree with both sides of this inevitable flame war. RB2 is improved in alot of areas but it is to RB what GHII was to GH (which is exactly what Harmonix said from the start).

I mean look at GH:WT. The actual GAME part (a MIDI charter, while cool, does not make a game) is just a GH-ized version of RB. And don't you dare say that extra drum pad makes any difference whatsoever. Or the cool-on-paper touch frets.

That said I'll still be buying both. Including GH:WT instruments.
