Russia has more advance weapons, Chechen weapons came secretly from Saudi Arabia or Syria....and was ironically manufactured by Russia as export(downgraded AK's and stuff). Its very confusing,but there are also details in Russian uniforms that can be differentiated from Chechen equipment.

Looking at these scenes I wonder how confusing it might have been for both sides. Both sides would have used identical weapons perhaps even equipment and the training would have been the same for both Chechens and Russians since they were both brought up under the Soviet Era and thus had similar training. Were there any instances of friendly fire?

Russia has more advance weapons, Chechen weapons came secretly from Saudi Arabia or Syria....and was ironically manufactured by Russia as export(downgraded AK's and stuff). Its very confusing,but there are also details in Russian uniforms that can be differentiated from Chechen equipment.
