  • my mum used to make me watch the episodes of Doctor Who before my little brother so I could say if there scary or not... This one scared me so much so my little brother never watched it.... But now I say good job mum!!

  • @superjoshrobinson Did your brother know about this? (yes I know 5 months old) Because if not Jack would have made no sense.

  • This and Don't Blink are my favorites for the ninth and tenth doctors.

  • This was one of the first episodes of Doctor Who I ever saw. I think I was in late elementary or early middle school. Oddly enough this is one of my favorite episodes, even if it is creepy. XD

  • I saw this episode at night just before I went to bed.

    MISTAKE!

  • Comment removed

  • omg when i watched this on the telly i was about 9 and i was so scared i spent the whole night crying in the corner of my bed expecting a little kid to come in with a gas mask on :L

  • This one scene made me jump so hard. What a creepy ass child. :P

  • oh my gosh. just like everyone else apparently was, i was up late watching this, by myself, in the dark. yep. i was definitely scared.

  • This was the best part of the episodes.

  • This was a creepy episode! I like how Christopher Eccleston smiles at every possible danger he is like the comic relieve you get scared at first then you see his smile then you get happy but then scared again!

  • This is one of the creepiest sh** ever, and I was up late watching this.

  • Scary, yes, though I think Stephen Moffat overuses this kind of scene. He has almost the same scene in all of his episodes prior to his takeover of the show.

    It goes:

Doctor: "*character name*, *points out something about the room/people/situation*"

    Other person: "Yes, so?"

Doctor: "Then why is/are *something different*

    *Jump scare*

Not to take away from him, he's terrific, it's just something I noticed on rewatches, he repeated this scene's structure a lot (and it does work, all the same)

  • @Abazigal Then why are you even mentioning it? Some people aren't happy unless they're bitching, swear to shit...

  • @beautifulpassion

Because he should tone it down if he overuses it? It makes scenes like this less scary if you've seen them a dozen times.

  • @Abazigal I reiterate- some idiots aren't happy unless they're bitching about something. When you get even slightly as infamous, famous, and well off as him, then you can give your less-then-intelligent advice, which will still hopefully be ignored. Until then, shut up.

  • @beautifulpassion

Oh I see how this works, I have to be famous to offer criticism. "Ordinary folk" aren't allowed by anything other than vapid fans.

Painting out that he repeated this same scene in most Who episodes he write is a valid criticism.

It seems if it were up to you, we would just blindly love everything without offering any criticism (which the likes of Moffat WELCOME) to suggest improvements.

  • @Abazigal Keep your issues to yourself, twit. And if you suggestion had any merit or value, I'm sure he would welcome it. As it does not- unsurprising- he, like I, would call you a moron and to shove off.

  • @beautifulpassion

You're quite the piece of work aren't you? I don't know if you think this spiel is impressive, but it's simply obnoxious (which you full well know but think it's "cool" to be a asshole).

Tell me exactly how reusing a scene constantly does not diminish its effectiveness and is thus not a valid criticism? From what I've seen, all you've done is pick a fight yet offer nothing but bullshit insults. I see only one person with "issues" so far, and it's not me.

  • @Abazigal Oh, hush, you issue-ridden little creature. Your insults are less meaningful then dog shit on my shoe. Just like your criticism to anyone more intelligent then you.

  • @beautifulpassion

Ok I get it, you're mad at everything and need to pick a fight over the internet for no reason. You've got nothing to offer here and I'm wasting my time replying to some angry attention whore, so I'm done with this nonsense. Ta ta.

  • @Abazigal Yawn. I'd say nice try, but it was weak, so no.

  • @beautifulpassion @Abazigal will you two ever shut up?!

  • @lordxeras wow, what a MORON. Did your dumb ass really post that a /week/ after the argument was over?

  • @beautifulpassion Arguments continue, shithead.

  • @lordxeras Yeah, when twits like you bring them back to life after /an entire fucking week/ because you just had to get on your little throne.

  • @beautifulpassion Yes, there are twits who bring them back after a week, believe me. And honestly, I wasn't even looking at the time, kay? I see two people arguing about completely irrelevant matters, so I reply.

  • Comment removed

  • @lordxeras Frankly, dumbass, it didn't even concern you. If you;'re so desperate to be some kind of controller or whatever the fuck you think you're doing, go be a teacher or something. Pay attention to when things happen, moron, or, better- don't open your yap when you're not involved in what's happening.

  • @beautifulpassion Uh huh. Now, what of any of these comments suggested my IQ, or that I wanted to "be some sort of controller"? I look at a Doctor Who video comments, I expect to see comments about the fucking video, not two idiots arguing over god knows what. You say it didn't concern me? It fucking pissed me off, so yeah, it sorta did. You call me a moron and an attention-seeker, yet I'm not the one dragging on an argument over a comment for the sake of insulting the other person's intellect.

  • @lordxeras Gods, you are stupid.

  • @beautifulpassion ....wait, why did you use the plural term 'Gods'?

  • @lordxeras Not that it concerns you at all, but yes, I did. I can use whatever explicative I care to use, and as I refuse to cross certain lines no matter how big a prick I am, I choose not to blaspheme. Do you have a problem with- oh, wait, I don't care.

  • @beautifulpassion Was just curious, actually.

What I'm also curious about is how Ironic this is. My "stop arguing comment" only succeeded in causing a second, more pointless argument.

    That's Ironic, right?

  • @lordxeras That's why we don't do it.

  • @beautifulpassion I s'pose that makes sense.

  • It's a pyro

  • Are you my mummy? Mummy? Mummy...

  • Who else rewinded their dvd to hear the tape end and when rose and doctor were beamed onto the ship when dancing in this ep?

  • thumbs up if this freaks you out

  • This wasnt scary at all.

  • Gentlemen, this is Meet The Pyro.

  • @Aurasmash14 haha yes XD

  • I've never wanted to boot a child in the face harder than I did while suffering through that episode, because the constant repetition of that phrase was painfully annoying.

  • Lol my mum hates this episode and leaves the room whenever it comes on :P

  • does anyone know what episode in the later seasons were the doctor(david tennant) joked with Jack in the tardis and said that line and jack got confused?

  • JACK IS THE FACE OF BOE!

  • JACK!

  • yeah i realised the tape ran out before the doctor and when the voice continued i almost freaked out, and then they relised what happened and the child appeared... then i freaked out.

  • That scares me EVERY time. I have watched it like 4 times I jump EVERY time.

  • RUBBERFRUIT

  • THE KID IS PYRO!

  • scariest freaking episode from DW like ever :O

  • He kinda reminds me of Psychomantis XD

  • yes i am your mummy now go to your rooom im very cross

  • I think they should have these kids and the Weeping angels in the same episode, how creepy would that be?

  • Awww, it's Pyro as a child! How adorable!

  • Doctor Who has moved me, it has made me cry 5 times, it gave me something to be afraid of at night again after so long. I love this series.

  • This was great but I like the weeping angels better.

  • @haydos271 i wasnt asking for your opinion honestly. now stop trying to create drama on this persons page.

  • are you my mummy? xD

  • i watched this episode when i was like 9 & im 13 now & guess what it still scares the shit out of me!

  • @smileychicccc97 This didn't scare me at all.

  • @haydos271 WELL AREN'T YOU FUCKING COOL? SUCK A DICK.

  • @mcrkid22 Dude, I wasn't bragging. I easily get scared and I'm surprised lots of people got scared.

  • @haydos271 I didn't say you were bragging, I just think you're cool and you should suck dicks, that's all.

  • @mcrkid22 Thank you for thinking I am cool (although I don't think you are being sincere), but, why should I suck dicks? If I was girl, then yes.

  • @haydos271 Just do it. Sucking dicks is what the cool kids do now.

  • @mcrkid22 Yeah, if the word "cool" meant "gay, which to most people does. Plus, I'm not a kid and I don't do what "cool" kids are doing because everyone has their own opinion on what's "cool" so no-one can be cool to everyone.

  • @haydos271 Naw man, you're just a kid, and you wanna be cool, don't you? Such a dick, it's badass, everyone will love it and you'll be famous and win a million dollars in the lottery. Seriously, give it a shot. shit happened to me, it was awesome.

  • @mcrkid22 I don't know where you got the thought of me wanting to cool, but "suching" dicks is just plain gay and if all the "cool' kids are doing it then they must be fucked up gays.

  • @haydos271 Do it. Suck dicks. It's what everyone does. It's fucking awesome. Do it.

  • @mcrkid22 I'll only do it once pigs grow wings and fly to the North Pole to solve Global Warming.

  • Sooooo creepy....

  • AH YOU MA MUMY

  • ITS psycho mantis's kid :D

  • "Are you my mummy" and "Hey...who turned out the lights" = most scary lines in Who history. This was definitely the episode that got me hooked on Doctor Who. When I watched "Rose", I was like, "I know people say this show is awesome...but are they all like this?"

Also loved Blink. That one was pretty scary. I can't wait to see the episode Neil Gaiman is writing for the new Who.

  • @rackfocus I love that line in silence in the library

  • @rackfocus It really is kind of like the Borg. once you're introduced to it, you can never quite get it out of your life.

    Oh god, I am so white ;_;

  • I saw this at two in the morning, alone, and on the couch. I nearly died.

  • @Flaremouse You Should watch Blink if this one scared you...

  • @Flaremouse how about the one with the weeping angels alone in the dark in my room?

  • are you my mummy?

  • Steven Moffat just writes the best Doctor Who episodes (:
