  • ive got a question. when you make something that works, does it actually work by you setting some commands, or is it all just a series of animations that are controling every part? i started recently in inventor but havent got to animating anything yet.

  • @DrQu4ntum If you set your constraints on each part properly then by rotating the crank shaft the rest of the items attached to it will move in the correct motion. For example, each piston is constrained to only be able to move up or down, the rods are linked to the piston and crank by the concentric contraint, and the crankshaft is fixed so it can only rotate about its axis.

  • @ChrisBence Thanks, that gave me the answer I was looking for.

  • @stronagmi 2 at a time yea, but its a four stroke, they fire at diff times.

use your fuckin head before you go and act like you know something.

  • 1,3,4,2 is the firing order, thats why they move like that

  • good job

  • Remember that this is a 4 stroke engine, one of them is on the compression stroke and one is on the exhaust stroke

  • 4 pistons and 4 tacts. All the 4 pistons should always do diffrent tacts for best result.;-)

I dont have so much experiense about carengines (not english either), but as i've learned thats how a 4-t engine works, they are moving like that, but always on diffrent tacts.

  • he probly model'd it after a honda 4cyl

  • the engine is modeled from a volvo-740, b23 engine.
