@xPinkStrifex and @Afinthegiantsnail it is because they can lay upwards of 1200 eggs a year and if they got into the wild in the US, they could really fuck things up for local species. Yes they are awesome, and I am sure you are a good owner, but having one of these in the US is very irresponsible, as they could possibly thrive somewhere in the wild and ruin things, like pythons have in florida. In england I am guessing they would die off faster due to the climate, hence the different laws.

@xPinkStrifex not too sure, I have an inkling that it might be because of the food crops. These snails eat a lot of food! and if you release them, it will do some damage to the crops. I know its illegal to release them in the uk but not to own them.

not quite^^ actually they're considered an invasive species in some places of the u.s. cause they have no natural enemies and eat alot

someone once released some of them and it cost about 50.000$ and 10.000 snail lifes to get the environment back to normal in that area

they're legal in germany though because here, they will die in the winter if released

but i dont even think the user above wanted to know that, it was more of a bitter rhethorical question i'd say..

@xPinkStrifex They are Illegal because the introduction of non native species to any ecosystem has detrimental consequences for that ecosystem and it's inhabitants.. They might enter in direct competition for resources causing the death of native species,,

@Afinthegiantsnail the reason they are not legal in the us is because some kid brought 3 home to florida or somewhere, his mum said, "get those things out of the house" he did, and the state government spent 3 years and $2,50000 killing the thousands of hungry snails :( , That is why they are banned in america :)

They get Yellow as they get older :) Mine is going less white now too its just how there skin changes as when there born there see through i think

yes I would have thought so, there basicly the same thing just a different breed, like you get a dog, but there are different breeds of dogs.

However, I only have the one snail, so I wouldnt really know if you can or not, but personally I dont see the harm in it.

There is a fair bit of information on the internet about them have a little look about and you might find a better answer!!! :)

ahhh awsome never heard of a case of an albion gals, when its a nice day i get a see through container, wet the ground and let ma sanils go around the garden within there shelter, helpfull they eat the dandilions and stuff ^^

PS: i take them in a night time otherwise it might get to cold.

hey, im only new to this thing, but i dont see why you cant house them together, however, you might not get albino babies with just one albino snail, i think both snails have to albino to get albino snails. Also I would move the babies into a separate tank because the bigger snails can harm them, you probably have already dne that anyway lol

but yea hes ace :D ive wnted a snail for AGES and couldn't resist the albino one, there known as 'white jade :)
